Chopper 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the best selling Mac and App Store classic Chopper.
Chopper 2 features 36 action packed missions over 12 unique and beautiful locations. It features a completely re-written 3D game engine, all new enemies, weapons, graphics, and missions, while still retaining the classic side scrolling game-play.
Escort a convoy of vehicles across the desert, or defend a train from enemies emerging from underground mines. Use your laser sight to line up enemies emerging from stairwells in the city. Chase down lines of enemy tanks and choppers while avoiding heat seeking missiles, gunfire and bird strike. Help your allies defend against advancing armies, and rescue stranded civilians, all while trying to complete your mission as fast as possible for the highest score.
Chopper 2 uses high resolution graphics and effects built for display right up to 2560x1600 pixels. It uses keyboard and mouse for control, and features a 17 minute long original soundtrack.
If you also have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can use the fantastic remote control feature to wirelessly control the Mac version with an iPhone or iPod Touch over WiFi. Simply download the free 'Chopper 2 Wireless Controller' app from the App Store.
What's New in Version 1.3.1
- Fixes crash when selecting city levels
- Fixes sound panning issue
This game was great! ...until... Since replacing my iPod Touch with an iPhone 5 using iOS 6, the REMOTE function no longer works for me! (The connection drops after a few seconds, or fails to complete initial calibration) I USED to be able to control the Mac version of the game (on an iMac) using any mobile iOS device on the same WIFI network to control movement. It was awesome! "Was" being the key word.
The game still works if you just want to play it on the tiny screen of the iPhone 5 (although, I am rather annoyed that even though the iPhone 5 has been out for longer than 6 months, they still haven't published an update that allows the game to utilize the full screen of the iPhone 5), or if you want to use the keyboard to clumsily control the Mac version, but I purchased the iOS version of this game AND the Mac version at the same time, with the intention of playing using the iPod or iPhone as the controller for the Mac version. (Which used to work great!)
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE!!! It has been almost a year and a half since your last update, and it is obvious that updates are now required!
A must-have game.
This indie game is so polished that you'll often lose yourself in contemplating the sunsets and terrain in the background and the atmosphere of the game when you should be piloting your nimble little death-bringer to the doom of the terrorist scum below. Of course, you always end up snapping back to attention just as that SAM is about to smack into your tail rotor…
Gameplay is simple and addictive. You'll end up playing certain missions over and over, because it's just so much fun to try to wipe out an enemy base or a column of tanks as elegantly as you can; others you'll want to play to explore the beautiful terrain.
It's amazing that this is the work of just one guy. I hope he releases a level pack some day: it would be cool to see more of his vision of the world, especially some jungle or swamp levels, and to fly around in that vision killing tiny little terrorists.
Needs Configurable Controls
I played the old classic game and miss the old control scheme. Of course, they say that they are coming in a future update and when I saw that in January I figured it wouldn't be long to wait. 11 months later and I'm still waiting. How long does it take to impliment this?
The game is good otherwise and if I could pick the controls I liked I would play it all the time. As it stands right now I never play because it annoys me. Fix this and I'll play and give you a 4 or 5 star rating.
Update: we were promised configurable controls 11 months ago and now….still no configurable controls. What gives? At least tell us when they are coming. Now all mention has been removed and for all I know, it will never happen.
