What's New in Version 1.2
For how simple this app is, it's still not very user friendly. You cannot rename songs, and there's no copy/paste so you'd have to re-create them entirely from scratch. Plus, there are no keyboard shortcuts so you literally have to click around for 10 minutes just to create a simple song. The "styles" are extremely choppy, and full of polyrhythms that distract from your playing. The only "style" that is acceptable for practicing abnormal patters is "Jump" with drums and bass turned all the way down. There is also no preferences panel, so you cannot disable the startup WHOOOSH that for some reason is MUCH louder than anything else in the program. All and all, this app does what it says, just not with the convenience that I associate with a mac. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for this app.
Needs some driver updates.
I purchased this software to work through some chord changes with my Bass and was hopeful it would get me pointed in the right direction. After downloading the software I played a couple of the tunes via my internal speakers just fine but when I plugged my Mac Book Pro into my Tascam interface (USB 2) the software would not play the songs? I tried to adjust the sound output configuration on both my interface and my Mac Book to no evail. I use my Tascam US-600 to record using both Garage Band and Logic Pro with no issues. The software simply refuses to play the songs when you select the Tascam as the audio output which is very strange? Another strange anomoly is that when the software initializes it will play the startup jingle tone via the Tascam but then refuses to play any songs.
Good jazz jam tracks for beginner.
I'm dusting off some old, and at best mediocre jazz guitar skills. This app has a long list of standards, with reasonable jam tracks for each. This app lets you choose songs, adjust backing volumes, and follows along with the changes on screen. Downsides include the window does not adjust size, so I have to minimize my taskbar to see the full app. Other than that, pretty straight forward, and helpful in my practice!
