Using a revolutionary approach to crafting a musical instrument on a portable device, only made possible by the technologies put together by Apple, the Chordica is set to change the way the world plays accompaniment music.

With it, you will:

•Learn to play music in just a few hours despite having no musical background
•Be able to play the accompaniment for thousands of popular songs
•Have a handy instrument anywhere you go
•Increase the chances of writing the next big music hit while on the move :)

Folks are calling the Chordica genuinely innovative, an example of simple but creative programming, a nice little app and a great start. One reviewer even said, “I plan on doing a great deal with it”.

Suggeastions to make Chordica better (imho)

I think Chordica is a pretty cool iphone app with real potential.

I wish I could find a way to contact the author to offer a few suggestions that I and I think others would appreciate.

Such as:

1) Include the ability to add other instruments (maybe for 99¢ each)

2) I really would like to see a pad or two for both, but especially the right hand —or finger, that had true sustain as long as you held it down.

The setting 'Orch Strgs' sustains for just half a second then cuts off abruptly.

Continual held sustain would have a richer, much less chopped sound and feel.

3) Bass and synth bass sounds for the left hand — currently all the sounds are keyboard based.

4) As others have requested the ability to save and recall song/arrangement presets. This would make Chordica a more credible performance app.

5) Right hand or dual hand arpeggiation options locked to the tempo, then ANYBODY would sound good.

6) The option to display the musical buttons by the current number system OR by the actual musical note system.

I hope to see some of my requests in future releases.

Very good but needs some work

Ok this is a nice little app. I picked it up this evening and really think it can develope into something really good.
A few suggestions would be to add a better help section to explain some things about the app. Like what the "M" button does. Seriously need a way to get back to the main screen without having to restart the app.
Future updates could include a way to record, custom chord creation, possible download of converted music scores from other users.
But a nice start to this app. Now let your imagination go and make this really great!

Brilliant (but a Little Buggy and Confusing)

The first time I tried to run Chordica, it crashed repeatedly, and I had initially written a 1-Star review, but after an iPhone hard reset it works fine, albeit a little confusing. As new updates are released I expect great things. It really is an easy way to play along, or chose chords for song writing. It takes much of music theory out of the way. I plan on doing a great deal with it.
