Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to cast your favorite entertainment and apps right to the big screen.
Use the Chromecast app to:
• Set up your Chromecast and connect it to your Wi-Fi network
• Personalize your TV home screen with art, personal photos, news and more by setting up backdrop
• Manage your Chromecast settings (such as changing your device name, Wi-Fi password, etc.)

I recently "cut the cable." I'd had enough of Comcast. But I miss having something to watch on TV. Chromecast seemed to be the best and cheapest solution. There are sooooo many apps that work with it. Although I didn't realize how many steps were involved in setting it up, it was nonetheless a piece of cake. However, at the end, there was a screen that said "Uh-oh" and something about not being able to connect to wifi, but I could see it was doing what it was supposed to do on the TV screen, so I just moved on. Went right into an app and casted it no problem. Then I downloaded the extension to cast Chome, and Google's local video casting beta app, and in the processs, it advised me of an issue with my firewall, but automatically fixed it. Later I opened the Chromecast app and explored it. At first when I opened it, it looked like something was missing. It wasn't showing my Chromecast. I closed the app and reopened it and it worked fine!
Chromecast is the best $35 I've spent in years.
I'm so in love with the Chromecast. HBO Go, Netflix, Starz, etc. are all so easy to cast on my tv. I have had this for about 3 months now and no problems. The Cons (in my opinion) is that you aren't able to cast your screen on a apple device, but it's available for Samsung devices. What's up with that? And another con I would say is they should have more compatible apps such as the MTV, VH1, Lifetime, etc apps. Those apps allow you to watch full episodes of just about all shows, it would be nice if they were compatible with the Chromecast :(.. But other than that this is a great "cheaper" solution than going with the Apple TV .. Just a few things Google should work on and it would be perfect.
This thing works beautifully. Have had it a month and not a problem at all. This thing even backgrounds off your apps so you can text, search the web, etc. while watching your movie or tv show. I'd give it a 5 star raising if I knew how to stream my google chrome app onto it. I'm sure there's a way I'm just having difficulty doing it. But for those complaining about bugs and problems with iPhone 4's please stop talking. It's not the drive it's your phone. You're still in the Stone Age for gods sake! This things built for speed and multi tasking your phones drive can't even handle. Update already were on iPhone 6 plus here.
