The most challenging solitaire game!
I love FreeCell and Spider solitaire, and play them frequently and well! This one is a real challenge to adjust to, as there are more "dimensions " to it! I have not experienced bugs in the past two days, and hope I don't, but this is a great game! Thank you, Mr. Rumsfeld, for bringing it to the App world! It is certainly a game worthy of the man who taught you!
July 30, 2016, I continue to love and be challenged by this game! I just had a wierd experience with #054, and could not provide direct developer feed back, so: I lost the 7 of diamonds!! It did not appear on the screen as I closed it on victory!! How could this be??!! I managed to solve the problem by moving a finger in crazy fashion over the stacks of suits, which put the card back on the screen as if somebody had swiped it and now returned it knowing that mayhem might ensue!! I have played every single game many times over, and never have I seen such a glitch. Thought I was losing my mind there for a few minutes, before my hail-Mary fix! Whew!
Strategy requires patience and repetition
Great game to teach strategy and long term thinking. Like other commenters it was had at first, learning the effects of stacking king lines on the left or right and how few victories it gives you. But that is the point, learn patterns and cumulative effects, for example it is not always good to place cards on the Aces set at top right. Often you need to move lower cards drawn and you can't bring them back down. Also play your victories again, you'll learn it hard to get another victory as the smallest placement or sticking difference changes things.
What's important is to realize you are fighting a cumulative series of interconnected probabilities. Learn on easy and medium before striking into the decks.
I'm now LGen with 46 victories. It Cannes it hid the last draw card when I was poised for victory - really annoying to give up a victory. Also once making LGen the campaign screen shows me as a captain at Omduran but the main screen has to be done and you do learn.
All that said it still has bugs; a few t
Good, needs work
I've played this now for a good month, and although I like the game, do not expect to win very often. The structure of the game is such that it is very hard to win a hand. I am also not quite convinced that the shuffling algorithm is doing its job. There are many times when 3 or 4 of the same card will come out in one deal. It happens very frequently, as well as cards that make it impossible to finish the game.
Also, this is a problem that the developer should address: it is picky about where you put cards, and often you have to click on a card to "remind" it that it's playable. Such as placing a red 5 on a black 6 - it often doesn't recognize that as a valid move (and it is). If you are OCD about having your black Aces and red Aces together, this isn't the game for you. It puts them where it wants.
The 4 "hold" cards in the upper left also are key. If a higher card is toward the right, and in the same suite, you are often not able to finish the hand.
I also don't really understand the whole "Campaign" thing. Those hands are no more winnable (IMHO) than the random deals. I've tried over and over, and maybe just not struck on the perfect 200 or so moves you have to make to win.
Clean up a few things, and this could be a 4/5 star game. But really hard.
