Excellent concept but...


I love the ability to do all that you can with this program. For the price, I believe that the consumer should have more tedious control. I have the switches set in place and I still don’t feel in control. I would like the ability to actually view which websites and content is being viewed. I hate that I have to completely remove a device from being manned to be able to use it. I want to be able to view what my child sees from the app and block or unblock it. It feels like all or nothing with this system. Then, I can’t tell which device is which sometimes. There needs to be a better way to tell which device I’m setting up. Then, there are certain parts of sites that I’m ok with but not others. I need feature and subject blocking abilities. There are so many possibilities with this program that are untouched. When improvements are made, I would be happy to change my view. Also, if I’m paying more than $100 for the Disney circle box, the mobile service should be included. I shouldn’t have to pay more on an already expensive item. I think it’s ridiculous that I do.

Don’t understand the complaints


IF you know ANYTHING about a computer at all or WiFi this app is very simple. I don’t understand all the complaints people are complaining about. You locate devices by the MAC address or on the genie app IF you have Netgear. If your not sure what your blocking or not blocking simply go into the sights and check the age appropriate materials ect. This is not a baby sitter and children should not be left in a room running computers at free will anyway. We always check in on what our son is doing and when he’s done he is completely switched off until the next time. Video games are allowed to connect rarely and we monitor those as well. We don’t allow children free run on the internet in our home. And the TV is setup requiring passwords on unrated programs. Parents take responsibility and quit looking for a short cut to babysit your children. Get involved and know what’s going on great App and 5 stars to NetGear for including it in your routers.

Terrible quality of the device. Rude and poor customer service


This is the second time in less an a year this device stopped to work. When in working is always an issue. If you pause the internet or any any for the device you selected, is not taking a command. When you resume back is not taking command. Mine stoped charging for nothing. Aaaaand in addition you need to deal with the rude, non cooperative staff of the call center apparently located in Austin, TX. The wait time is endless: last time I had to wait 47 mins for some to answer my call. Now, stopped working again, I have been trying to contact them but it’s always a long wait time, and this is not the only thing I have to do. The agent was complaining to me why I didn’t call before???? Seriously, they told me if I don’t have the proof of purchase They can’t do anything. Really? I asked to speak with a supervisor, they don’t have available in a 24 hours window.... I asked to be communicating with the department who handle warranties, they can’t either transfer. So we depend on the “ customer service” agent to see if we can get technical support? And get it fixed. Please, don’t buy this product.

I had one of the supervisors over at our tier 1 group listen through your call and I do want to make sure you get the care you need. It looks like we've processed that replacement for you at this time and we are waiting for that defective unit to be returned. Once we have that our team will assess it and then get a new unit out to you if applicable. Our tier 1 rep. did relay the correct information to you about our proof of purchase requirements as we do require having those for a replacement. Since our supervisors are not available for a "warm transfer" they did offer to have the supervisor call back within 24 hours as they are trained to do. Our order management team is also unavailable via phone so they were unable to transfer you for that purpose as well.
