SALE 67% OFF! - The definitive iPhone shooter, cs.one is the first truly synesthetic shooter available exclusively for the iPhone and iPod touch.
KILL EVERYTHING. TOUCH NOTHING. //
New Version 2.0 now with Dual Stick Controller, New Ship Designs and iPod playback! Massive rendering performance optimizations from Unity Technologies.
Audio/Visual effects like music, environments, vocal samples, and sound FX are mixed in real-time and triggered in sync with the music while playing. As intensity levels change so does the game world. cs.one also features a dynamic, sliding time scale where audio speed and pitch are warped in real-time when using the bullet.time hack.
At its core cs.one is a fast paced 2.5D shooter powered by an inertia based physics system much like the classic arcade game Asteroids. Fans of Geometry Wars will find a similar aesthetic and enemy behavior with a larger battlefield, fixed objectives and fluid parallax movement. cs.one's audio/visual effects, gameplay and Rez like environment were inspired by Cyberspace as described by William Gibson in his award winning Cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer and Neal Stephenson's vision of the matrix in Snow Crash.
9 of 10 / AppGamer.net
"There were many mimicries of the classic-Geometry-Wars-action iDevice gamers longed for, spanning from Isotope, Nano Fighter to Light Wars. Each having their own strengths and weaknesses, none truly felt like a wholesome package. It outlooks, outsounds and outclasses its competition by a considerable margin. Indie developers playing ball in the App Store really need to step it up because right now – All Ur Bases R Belong To CS.One." - Jeff Effendi

Cool for .99 but....
There are some very obvious quirks that keep this game from being a steller app like Rolando and Edge.
Pros: Great visuals and three control settings to choose from. Also, being able to use your iPhone music is great. Good challenges, just fun gameplay.
Cons: 1.There is no way to quit a game and return to the main screen. You have to either quit the entire app using the iPhone home button or die off in the game. 2. You have to select your control settings (basic, dual stick, etc) each time you start a new game. The app should allow you to choose a default setting. Also, you can't change the control settup once you're playing. If you decide that you want to play using dual sticks after you've already selected the basic setup, you need to exit the app, relaunch and then pick the control setting.
3. The user interface is horrible. I like the Rez like effect but it's tough to read and takes time to learn what is information and what is on screen buttons.
For .99 it's okay, but the cons I listed above keep it from being great. Developers, just humble yourself and hire an artist that specializes in user interface design and infographics. Look to Firemint's Real Racing for interface inspiration. By adding some polish, you won't need to resort to 48 hour .99 cent incentives to boost sales. A polished game sales on the strength of it's design and playability.
Biggest feature: lack of fun
Just give me my money back. You will be asking for it back as well if you buy this game.
I had a lot of hopes for this title and I am still holding out for the game to improve it's gameplay. First the controls are unresponsive. Now they thankfully added the "dual joystick" controls and they are truly a welcomed feature, but the game still suffers from "lag" and a lack of refined control. Moving on the guns or weapons are pooly done and could use for a sence of power as in geometry wars.
Now everyone is looking for that end all be all app for the iPhone. Well look further because this is not it. I really like some of the chillingo games out there, but I find the advertisements for this game to be very misleading. A lite version would be appreciated so that no one makes a poor purchase.
Finally I find that the games repetition (every level is the same, just different enemies and colors) to be trite and annoying. I don't expect much in the app store, bur I feel that my .99 cents could have been spent on better apps. Maybe if they ditch the "story" and open it up to a style of geometry wars, they would really have a killer app, but until then wait for a lite version.
• Great music and sound effects
• Really nice menus.
• Extremely repetitive
• Nothing tangible to obtain
• Feels underpowered and unoriginal
Unique Retro Action Blaster! :D
This game is truly amazing! It's about time someone created a game like the old arcades from the 1980s! It reminds me of Joust and Robotron 2084 with the sound effects and overexposure to pure awesomeness from the eye candy similar to that of Geometry Wars Retroevolved! The layering can be confusing at times but it adds a lot. This game has its own feel with computer hacking which works great with the vector graphics destroying grids. The game tasks are simple and to the point- anyone to get confused obviously didn't read the instructions or get that far into it. The music fits well with it too although if you want to listen to something new you can just play your own stuff from your library. My only complaint is that the controls could be a little more fluid in movement. If they do that this game is gold- well it already is but it'd be platinum! Highly recommended and it's about time someone did something innovative and retro like this. Cheers to the creators! :D
