What's New in Version 4.0
Citizens Bank Mobile Banking App version 4.0 includes the following updates:
• Introducing a brand new look and feel to our login process! We’ve enhanced our log in feature allowing you the convenience of entering your User ID and Password on the same page! The first time you access our updated application, you will receive a quick tutorial explaining these changes.
• We've removed the passphrase and image pages, allowing us to consolidate the User ID and Password fields onto one page.
• The "Remember Me" feature will now save your User ID and Device.
• Added credit card transfer cut off time to the calendar when making payments.
• Enhanced features for mobile deposit.
Minimal features actually work
The app works well for accessing your Citizen's accounts and internal direct transfers or setting up a bill pay. But NEVER has the app worked with external transfers or paying people. You have to login and do it manually online; you CONNOT do this via the app. Every time you click on "Transfer Money", a pop up box appears and says, "External Transfers are temporarily unavailable..." There's some false hope. It's said that for MONTHS now. So I have a feeling it will NEVER be available. Nor can you pay people. Tried to pay a family member, but, yet again, you CANNOT use that feature nor set it up via the app. What's the point in having an app that only half works? Why download the app if you're going to have to go online to fulfill your tasks always? Very irritating. Pretty much only good to check you account balance.
Still Still Blows
Another update and Touch ID still doesn't work. What moron designed this app. I mentioned pending payments is in bill "history" which is dumb, but also it sorts your pending payments in the wrong order. The next one to go out I have to scroll to the bottom to see it. A bill going out in over a month is at the top of the list. Citizens is backwards.
Citizens has always been way behind on everything. Finally bringing Touch ID to the app would be great is it were true. I've logged in as normal. No enable Touch ID. Checked settings, only fast balance option in there. If it weren't so hard to change banks at the moment and set up all my bill pays, I would have done it already. Terrible customer service. Terrible fees. Terrible rates. Terrible app.
BTW Citizens. History is in the past. Why do I have to go to Bill History to find future bill payments. Counter intuitive.
Since the Touch ID has been added as a feature it hasn't worked properly. It's very annoying to have to put in a password even after I've done Touch ID. An error always pops up about being unrecognized. Mobile deposits work pretty good but you have to write " for deposit only to citizens bank" with signature. I've never had to do that with any other bank to make a mobile deposit. It's just takes more time to take that extra step. You can't do much but view your balances, make transfers (I think) and mobile deposits. The desktop site is much better but it would be nice to have a convenient mobile app. I deleted it. I will re-download it to see if it corrects itself. But I doubt it.
