Civil War Maps is a collection of battlefield maps for the American Civil War. Most major battles are represented, some by more than one map showing the stages of battle. Civil War Maps is suitable for casual readers of Civil War books, for Civil War fans, and for anyone one the go with an interest in Civil War Battles.

The icon was chosen because the little picture of Grant looks cool on my iPhone and he's my hero anyway.

The maps were drawn by Hal Jespersen,, and are either in the public domain or are licensed by the CC3-by license which allows unrestricted re-use so long as the author is attributed.

-139 Maps
-Landscape and Portrait.
-US Grant Icon.

Good, could be great with tweaks

The maps are good - easy to read, etc. What could make this a five-star app? Make the list of maps sortable by date, which would make it much easier to find the battle you're looking for. It would also help avoid confusion with varying names of battles (for example, where is Cold Harbor? And if you're looking for Manassas, would you know to look under "f," for "first bull run"?)

An easy fix that would improve this app a lot.

Excellent resource Please add more Maps

Excellent resource covering many of the major & minor battles of the war. Additional maps would be appreciated: 1- Battle of Franklin, 2- Battle of Nashville (1864), 3-New Orleans, 4-Island number 10, 5- Monitor vs Virginia, and others.

Having these and more will be very useful during the upcoming Sesquicentennial.

Great little app for touring

I just came back from a tour of Gettysburg and while on the battlefield this app came in very handy. The fact the regiments are marked clearly is very useful. I am hoping on other civil war maps this detail can be updated like this, such as the Chancellorsville series.
