Civil Chat helps to shape a healthy communication environment. When emotions run high, there is a chance of saying something regretful during a text exchange. Once words are in writing, they become more difficult to disown but communication with an ex is still inevitable, particularly in co-parenting situations.
Sending aggressive or harassing texts often times can be used against the sender in court, can compromise parenting plans and land you in hot water. While you should never write anything that you wouldn’t want a judge to see, Civil Chat adds safeguards to outgoing texts that may prevent recipients from receiving certain types of messages, particularly in those spur of the moment situations.
Sometimes when receiving inappropriate messages from your ex-spouse, it is tempting to respond just as inappropriately. However, many don’t take a moment to calm down before putting something in writing. This is why Civil Chat was created.
Civil Chat is a simple, SMS like messaging app that enables divorced couples to engage in civil, conversation. Civil Chat does not focus on keeping a complete record of all communication and is not monitored by the courts, yet helps to keep communication between parties free of emotional and often times regrettable messages.
