Teachers: Classroom Quizshow + Your Questions = FUN!

Lessons can be boring, but television game shows are fun. Shouldn’t your lessons be fun like a game show? Answer: Yes!

Use Classroom Quizshow to engage your students. There are currently five game types: tic tac toe, matching, dots, reversi, and sudoku.

I wrote the first version of Classroom Quizshow using Apple's HyperCard during my first year as a 4th grade teacher. My own students can’t get enough of it.

Classroom Quizshow has been used with ages from kindergarten through medical school.

Classroom Quizshow... because the only thing worse than sitting through a boring lesson is teaching one.

What's New

Version 8.7.2

Students can now be marked absent so they won't appear in a game rather than deleting them from a team. This way you don't have to remember who to add back in later.
Number of questions in a question set displayed to help troubleshoot unintended Enter/Return line breaks within questions.
Can now display games in a window in addition to full-screen. This was a customer request to make Classroom Quizshow work with Blackboard.
Fixed bug that may not have saved settings if application was quit using the application menu or Command+Q.
Fixed bug that caused infinite loop (freeze) if you deleted a newly-created team or question set without adding any students or questions.

Classroom Quizshow!

It is so exciting to find this game suite in the app store!

I have been in a classroom for 23 years and have used many different methods for teaching and reviewing material in all subject areas, but this program is one of the most versatile and easiest to use that I have found. I began with an older version, one of the first, and Mr. McNutt has created marvelous additions since then.

The games themselves are familiar to most children (Kindergarteners LOVE Tic-Tac-Tournament and DOTS!); my older students really got into the challenge of the Flip Flop Flank game, and who doesn't like matching?!! The colors are bright and inviting; the fonts are easy to read, even if you have one of those older projectors or a little screen on which to play, and the students ask for it over and over again!! Your own classroom questions are easily entered or changed, too. I was not very computer literate when I began, and Mr. McNutt was always prompt with his answers to my online questions and so helpful.

I can't wait to introduce this version to my classes with the new Sudoku game!

Potential to be Great

Get Organized!

The concept of this app is wonderful - just what I was looking for. A way to make learning and test prep for my kids fun.
Be aware, this game doesn't include a spot for answers. After you buy the app you the developer indicates this is by design as it would slow the game down. Not sure I agree - it would be great if there was at least a spot to place your answers and then reveal the answers. That is the only drawback I see - if the developer includes this feature it would be 5 stars in for me!
The game is also setup so that your questions can be used in a variety of different game formats - so others could be added in with future releases (please?).

Very Good

rashock

This is what I have been looking for to help ESL students study in class in a fun way. Thanks! Will sound be added anytime in the future? Also, I noticed from your website there are some old magazine and newpaper articles about your previous version with something similar to a Jeopardy game. That game is not on the new version. How can I buy that older version because that is a game I really think would be fun in class.
