Up-to-date weather forecasts for over 300 rock climbing areas throughout the United States. Whether bouldering in Joshua Tree or big-walling in Zion, ClimbingWeather.com let's you know when to pull down and when to bail. Keeping you high and dry since 2005!
We've made some improvements to the "Nearby Areas" search, which was a bit glitchy. Now it clearly asks for permission if you have not granted access and refreshes only when needed. Also, we fixed an issue on the search areas screen that caused the screen to go black and the search bar to be lost. Enjoy!

Helpful, one area for improvement
This app is extremely helpful, but I wish I could set my time zone. Even though my location can be locked in with the “nearby” option, for some reason at 10:14pm on a Wednesday, it’s showing me tomorrow (Thursday) as “Today”, then Friday, Saturday, etc. Like I’m viewing EST whilst using the app from PST time zone.
Easy enough to compensate for, but a fix would be great!
Simple, beautiful & functional!
This app does exactly what a climber would expect & require when it comes to quickly & remotely checking the exact weather of oftentimes off-the-grid obscure locations. It's very easy to use & quickly search by actual crag name. Regarding the one negative review and the issues associated, the search function does get gummy if you don't complete a search query, but once completed the user can easily navigate back to the menu & home. The issue of favoriting locations (which is a key function) is a non-issue. There is a star next to the locations, press the star & the location is saved as a favorite, very similar to Gmail. So don't let the 1 negative review dissuade you from trying this resourceful free app. Give it a try, and no, I am NOT associated w/ the developers of this app, just a very enthusiastic climber. Great job on the app though! Now go out and climb!!
The website was great on its own right ... the text message weather updates were a godsend. This is definitely the next level. Thanks for the app!
Without instructions, it took me a second to figure out that clicking on the stars would add locations to the favorites page. But now I get it.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
