Multiple fixes and improvements
Love this app. I use it every day and rely heavily on its ability to automatically sync between Mac, iPad and iPhone.
The syncing is absolutely invaluable and, in my experience, absolutely reliable.
The ability to select and drag multiple items is, for an IOS outliner, an unusual and helpful feature as well.
I had been using apple's note app for syncing notes between devices, but I had constant problems with syncing, getting duplicate note pages every other day. Those duplicate pages were impossible to deal with, requiring constantly rereading huge pages of notes to avoid missing items. So painful. Thanks to this app that problem is gone. And an outline app is so much more convenient anyway.
Hard to believe after all these years I finally have an outline app with true syncing, not to mention reliable and automatic.
For the person who's losing items: May I suggest that you might be accidentally tapping the DONE checkbox, and that you might have the setting which hides completed items (that's the default). I thought the app was losing items as well until I discovered that and turned off the setting.
Developer: Please keep up the good work. And thank you
Btw, I'm the developer of the windows outliner Ecco Pro, of many years ago.
Suddenly lost 6 months data, disinterested tech "support," no resolution
First, let me say that I used to love this app and relied heavily upon it over the past several months. I had it installed on my iMac, my iPad and my iPhone. I loved that it used to sync iCloud as well as having the ability to export to Evernote.
Apart from that this app has very limited functionality, but that is what I wanted: something simple. Design flaws/UI issues aside, suddenly all data disappeared from the iMac version. I tried to re-sync it, and then only a few day's worth of months of data showed up. Then it all disappeared. When I synced my other devices everything disappeared as well.
I tried reinstalling the app, which made things worse. I contacted the manufacturer to ask for help. 2 weeks later I got an email from her advising me to try troubleshooting by doing the same tasks I had already done. When I emailed her again saying that it wasn't working at all anymore, I never heard back.
I would not recommend this app to anyone. It took me over a day to try to salvage some of my data but most of it is just gone.
Former EccoPro User Thumbs Up
What got me to pay attention to this app was PeteLP's review. As one of other guys behind the legendary and still undefeated champion of all outlining software, his name carries a lot of weight.
Cloud Outliner is pretty lightweight as outliners go. I have found the deep functionality I need to help me run my business in MLO (MyLifeOrganized). However, I like Cloud Outliner because of it's seamless sync capabilities the fact that it easily exports into Evernote. I'm also cross my fingers that its OPML export will work in my mindmap app, iMindQ (desktop app).
Until, the 2nd Coming of EccoPro, this is one of the tools I'm happy with.
