Poor app, why would any library use it?
I have been trying to use this for 3 weeks...here's how it is supposed to work: there is a large collection of audiobooks at your library. You select "mystery" "audiobook" and "available now" the you hit search and several hundred titles come up that are available, mystery, and audiobook.
But here's what really happens: You select mystery, available now, and audio....and search - The app shows you three books, 2 are the same. You select one by tapping it and when it opens it says it's not available. So, frustrated, you search all audio books that are available and several hundred actually come up, mostly religious memoirs, but in between you see dozens of mysteries, so you try to filter out the hundreds of books you aren't interested in...but some of the ones you choose to read end up not being available....so finally you sit and try to think of an author you've read, and search her titles....and then you see a list of her mysteries, and a few are available ...after you listen to those, you desperately try to think of other authors you know...and you might come up with a few titles to listen to that way. Meanwhile there are actually other library apps that actually work. If you are considering an app for your library, don't choose this one.
Glad that it's free, but very disappointed
My library used to use overdrive. Overdrive allowed me to download in Kindle format, it also was much easier to highlight. Overdrive also had more formatting options, such as allowing columns and It has much more control over text size. I wish my library would go back to overdrive, but since that's not an option I hope this app gets updated so that it can catch up to overdrive.
When listening to audiobooks I would like to have the ability to go forward or back 30 seconds using the volume buttons on my headphones like the audible app has. Audible also has that ability on the Apple Watch. My rating would change to 5 stars with these changes.
Update: I'm liking this app less the more I use it. I find it's almost impossible to access footnotes. I'm wondering if people who give this app a 5 star rating have ever used Kindle for iPhone. Can't beat the price but this is a very poor reading app.
It could be a lot better
This has been a mediocre app. My library had joined with them a few years ago when they had fewer books for checkout. Now, they just delete books from their servers & I can no longer find books I've previously read. Who does that?!? My latest problem involves being unable to sync my books between multiple devices/platforms. Bibliotheca is pretty stingy with any troubleshooting tips, referring the reader to their library rather than online remedies. So, right now, I'm not real happy with the app, but it's all I have to work with. Sad.
