really needs more simple designs
What would take this app from good to great would be a few more simple, non-fancy designs.
Specifically, I would like an option for a digital clock. In my dream world, it would just be the numbers on the screen, no extra features at all (maaaaybe a contrasting rectangle behind the numbers). It would let me use my choice of fonts, have a slider for clock size, and a choice of colors for the numbers and the background. Most importantly, it would have a slider for TRANSPARENCY!
My use case is as a performing musician, playing in clubs and raves, where it’s often dark. My software needs to be fullscreen, but it would be awesome to have a big clock overlaid over the whole screen, transparently so I could still use my software, but big enough numbers that I could look over from ten feet away and still see instantly what time it is.
I’d settle for a big, simple digital clock that I can move out of the way if I need to.
Good but power hog
This app does what it’s supposed to, with good options for placement and size. I would like some more very basic options though, for both the analog and digital styles, because the current options are all a little gaudy.
My other problem is that this application seems to use a lot of power, and when I’m running on battery, with Clox running my battery drains almost twice as quickly. I don’t know if this is a problem for others, but it forces me to quit Clox when I want to work off of my battery for a long period of time. This is not the best thing.
Not terrible, but also not perfect.
There are lots of glitches and it was very tempermental, so it took forever to get it to look like something I could live with. Sometimes half the clock would disappear when you resize it, sometimes it wouldnt show up at all. And there wasn’t a way to keep it on the desktop only, so you’re just out of luck if you dont want a huge clock hovering on top of everything you open in your desktop. Plus the timezones weren’t exactly precise, i had to settle for a timezone that was 30 minutes off. I even checked every zone available to see if a different city had the time I needed. Nope. It was only 99 cents, but dont waste your money. I deleted it within 3 days.
