Clozure CL is an implementation of Common Lisp, an object-oriented dynamic programming language. It includes a fast compiler, support for native threads, a sophisticated garbage collector, and a convenient interface for calling C and Objective-C code.
Compiler updated to version 1.11. Includes bug fixes and performance improvements.
The 1.11.1 update does not pre-load ASDF in the image file. ASDF is still bundled, however, and you load it as normal with (require 'asdf).

Outstanding CL, true Mac UI, no extra junk
I teach AI and Lisp at the university level and was looking for a true Common Lisp implementation for the Mac that will let you develop serious projects, but not have all the Rube Goldberg extras of overly-engineered (and either expensive or limited) alternatives. CCL is the best — and I’ve used Lisp, many development environments, for a lot longer than my students have been alive. Nice, clean interface, easy for a beginnner to learn and manage, but with the full power of Lisp under it. Only complaint is that there’s no way I can see to pay for this software. I woud do that happily, and ask my students to do so as well.
Excellent Common Lisp environment
If one cares to develop in Common Lisp, or just plainly creating great apps, give Clozure Common Lisp (CCL) a chance. You do not need Emacs with this, just jump right in on one of the greatest dev environment available.
Really great way to get started with CL on OSX. I just started today to try CL for some web programming (yes lisp is great for web stuff too) and Clozure is simply the best to get up and running soon. It comes with a complete IDE so no need to use EMACS which, by itself, is a great plus.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
