Customer Reviews

Kudos to whoever redesigned the App finally!

Finally the app became usable and intuitive. Four more ways to bring audience to CNBC app and create Wow! Effect is 1) by providing short and long term support and resistance on the charts. You have the data already! Put it to work! 2) Secondly, remove The Profit commercial in the middle of the app.. 3) Behave like Google to collect customer data and usage pattern non-invasively! 4) provide option to transition to watch CNBC TV on the go - why should one subscribe to PRO to watch CNBC TV - both real-time and archived videos of some-while on the road when he/she is already paying cable subscription fee ? You are anyway going to get monetized thru advertising on CNBC TV

Gradually Catching-Up to the "CNBC Classic" App

The truly outstanding "old" version of this app was the gold standard. When it was done away with (for reasons never revealed by CNBC), the protest from users was enormous.

Nevertheless, while this "new" version still has its share of flaws (and is thus less useful than the original app), it HAS been steadily improved since introduction. The latest version greatly enhances navigation between screens, which was a major "must-have", so I'm upping my former very low rating to average.

NOTE: The ratings here in the Apple Store are unfairly skewed to the positive. This is because the app first asks you if you"love" it. If you answer "No!", you are directed to an internal CNBC-viewed only review form. Conversely, if you respond "Yes!" (as I just did and confirmed my suspicions), it brings you here, to presumably wax eloquent about the app. You're not seeing what I'm quite certain are still many gripes and low rankings.

Bottom Line: An improved app that's getting better with each revision, but still nowhere near as streamlined and useful as was the original "classic" CNBC app that was unceremoniously scuttled a year ago.

WADR: Liked old CNBC app a bit better!

After several re-builds, the new app (v:4.1.2), while it is good is *still* missing a key attribute of the old app, the "Market Watch" - the active gainers & losers. The day's display is needlessly 'busy' but I do like the interactive chart function (sliding your finger to see past prices). I also suggest adding a user note field to Watchlist… so user might add date &/or $ info when listing an equity.
NB: I certainly understand CNBC's need to monetize the app, but they've gone too far wrt many ancillary house videos, etc.
If I could revert to the old version of CNBC's app, I might… just to get the old "active gainers & losers".
Oh, the version # should be included in the 'about' FAQ.
Thx tho for pretty good app!
