I read select news, opinion, and occasionally entertainment segments daily. The writing is comprehensive and informative. I must admit that my favorite start to the weekday was "5 Things" , which provided a good summary of top news stories to watch as the day continued. I must admit I miss the fact that the compiler of this segment no longer includes the video clips of assorted animal and people antics captured in the act of doing something funny. What a lovely touch of comic relief that was from the grim events here and elsewhere in the world. Please bring that back.
REALLY LIKE CNN, BUT...
I really like CNN, and the App is pretty strong. But hey, do us all a favor and stop playing race games. First, George Zimmerman IS AN HISPANIC!! He doesn't even look like a white guy! But, of course, you wanted a white-on-black story. And whatever happened to the JESSICA CHAMBERS story?! White girl burned alive doesn't matter, I guess, huh. Moreover, black-on-white crime is much more prevalent, and you know it! Just be honest about race. White lives do matter, too. By the way, I'm an Italian-American, and a liberal Democrat, but I can't stand political motivations. If a white person is killed by a black person, just report it with the same vigor!
Decent app, content disturbing
I read news several times a day and always thought CNN stories were well-written. I have, however, recently limited my time on the CNN app because there always seem to be disturbing pet abuse stories. I know animal abuse is a fact of life but I could really do without the photos of crushed, beaten, starved or burned cats and dogs. I don't click on the stories. The sickening photos are bad enough. I know most of the stories end with a decent person adopting the animal but I'm going to continue avoiding CNN. Hopefully some day, I'll open the app and not see a single abused animal tale. Until then, I'm finished with CNN.
