CNN excludes non cable subscribers from debates

As an American wanting to follow the debates I take exception to the fact that CNN has excluded me on the basis that I choose to NOT pay over a thousand dollars a year to subscribe to cable. CNN has decided that only people who spend that chunk of money should be entitled to access a live debate that helps us better decide on the next POTUS. This is exclusionary and bigoted at best. Shameful. I've lost respect for CNN.
This is not the Olympics, the Super Bowl, or live tv sitcoms - entertainment, that I'm asking for. It is part of the news, a service that if I wanted to watch, and you feel you must charge, I should have the option to pay for without having to commit hundreds of dollars to cable so that I can watch the sporadic debates. Instead, CNN has gone out if it's way to ensure that only cable subscribers can access the live debate through CNN GO which requires a cable subscription. This is a disgraceful act of cronyism with the tv networks and very bad for your customer base which is increasingly moving away from cable. Maybe when enough of us quit cable, CNN can come back and play nice, like when it started... Way back when... Sort of...

Flawed but still quite dependable

Have used CNN app since its inception - and it has definitely come a long way! I depend on CNN as my primary news source. Simple as that. But if I had one main gripe it would be all the ads! They are now inserted into the body of all news stories - and I really do hate that! I know you have to have them but do you have to have so many? I am so "sick" of seeing "ZuLilly". Sorry, but I wouldn't shop with them now even if they were giving things away!
Then there is the problem of dropping the end of sentences! Where do all those words go?
And then the last paragraph of an article being duplicated?
I really hate that you are giving me things to complain about! Even if you can't eliminate all those ads, c'mon folks, get the words, the paragraphs, the articles together!!!!

Good, but with technical issues

While I would probably recommend supplementing this app with other news sources, it is a convenient way to get a quick overview of the most relevant news stories going on now. There is some click bait ("Man Survives Crazy Car Crash") and a strangely disproportionate number of stories on Taylor Swift (or maybe it's just me), but the articles are concise and the op-eds are generally intelligent and well written. That said, there is a bug where a line of text will be missing from an article. This can often lead to confusing and incomplete sentences. And the app has crashed on me, but this is pretty rare and not a huge issue. If these glitches could be fixed, I'd easily give this app 5 stars. For what it is, it's pretty good, especially for a busy college student like myself who doesn't have a TV.
