An ancient power lies hidden, deep within Coldfire Keep, threatening the peaceful town of Newsettle.
Now four friends must take it upon themselves to become heroes, and venture into the depths on a quest to secure their town's future.
Coldfire Keep is a traditional, old-school dungeon crawler, lovingly hand-crafted for fans of the genre. Featuring grid-based movement, and active turn-based combat, Coldfire Keep draws inspiration from classic late 80's and early 90's dungeon crawling adventures.

Potential, until you get into the keep.
I was very happy to see the nostalgic “Eye of the Beholder” style of gameplay. The combat is challenging at level 1 (darn rats.) However, the flaws of the game become apparent when you can actually walk through the walls and go all over the first level by passing through every wall without hinderance. (However, since it is apparently at times outside of the map, you are in the dark trying to find your way back to the stairway.) This ability to walk through every wall becomes more problematic because the monsters can too and they are far higher in level than you at some points.
I ended up just logging off and hope that they fix this problem before I continue. I really did like the graphics I was able to view. (Not sure what the statues look like, they didn’t show up. And the pink fire was a bit confusing). But there are so many flaws in the programming it makes it unplayable.
I rarely write bad reviews and I hope that this will spurn the programmers into action to fix this game. I really do want to play it.
Could be better...
This definitely is a game with potential. The difficult part is earning gold. I’ve picked up plenty of items but cannot sell them to the merchant. It’s a real pain when your characters are starving and you can’t even buy rations or a fishing rod because they are too expensive.
I wish there were more games like this. It was just the kind of dungeon crawler I was looking for! If there is anyone out there who knows of more games like this, please let me know in your review!
