Color Practice - Puzzles From Color Charts
By Matias Dahl
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Interested in color? Color Practice is an app for learning about color using visual puzzles. In each puzzle, the challenge is to rearrange a shuffled color chart back into its original order. See color-practice.com for a demo.
* Select a hue by rotating the color wheel. The selected hue is the top hue marked with a white tick. The '+' and '-' buttons on the left adjust the number of pieces in the color chart. This can range from c. 10 pieces to challenging puzzles with over 120 different colors.
* The color charts in correct order are shown inside the color wheel. Each column has a constant brightness, with dark colors to the left and bright colors to the right. The bottom row shows the gray colors. The lower part contains muted colors, and each step upwards represents an increase in colorfulness. For examples, see the screenshots below.
* Tap '>' to shuffle a color chart into a puzzle. The pieces can be rearranged in any order, but the bottom left and right corners (the darkest and lightest grays) are always locked and cannot be moved.

Anyone wanting to understand color, value, tint, tone and shade should practice as often as possible with this app. Please develop more like this...wishing for a 3-d version. Thank you so much for this app.
A year has gone bye and I still believe this app is one of the most outstanding and valuable mental exercise for anyone wanting to get better understanding colors. It's also a fun game. Give it a try for the fun of it and you might accidentally find it's a very sneaky way to slip in some knowledge!!!!
Many thanks again! I'm getting ready to paint my house and this app is always in the background when choosing colors.
