Do you Know that iPad have a heading sensor, a digital Compass?
Note, that iPad is shipped from factory without a compass app.
Compass HD comes to fill this void left in the Apple device.
Offering a digital compass that looks like a real compass.
Compass HD can function in all orientations.
A simple but very useful application when you want to know the orientation of cardinal points.
Have you ever bought a compass as cheap as CompassHD?
Nice replacement for the iPhone compass
Nicely done; and a nice replacement for the Apple app which is included with the iPhone.
I'd like to see some smoothing and simulation of a fluid filled compass. Otherwise, a very serviceable basic compass.
One thing I'd suggest is to mention in your description that it displays true headings, not magnetic (I assume Location services knows the declination for the current location). I don't see any reason to display magnetic, myself, but just thought it helpful to mention which mode is used. Since everything related to maps has to be converted to true anyway, there isn't really any need for magnetic to be displayed, other than "the need to know".
Edit: after further investigation (comparing with other compass apps where I have control over true vs. magnetic), it does look like this app is displaying magnetic. In either case, it would still be good to note [in the description] which is being displayed - especially for those who live in areas with small declination values. That all said, I would still like to have the option to use true (for the reasons mentioned above).
