The ultimate game of "Get off my lawn!"
For seniors and whipper-snappers alike!
Update: been playing for maybe a year now. The game scales well as you advance in most areas. The developers are generous with gems. I was for example able to buy all the upgrades using gems generated in game. These help so save up for them.
One or two items do not scale well. New land at $400k each still spawns towns that at best provide $40/hr. At that rate, it takes over a year to get paid back, so you only buy these things if you have absolutely nothing else to spend money on or really want the railheads.
Likewise, the medicine wagon only grows linearly whereas most buildings scale exponentially, so for medicine wagon exponential cost but diminishing returns in time saved as it advances. That's not really worth it after a point unless you are running a defensible low production town and need to make all your money attacking people.
Never really got into posses.
I have no trouble at all in attack. I recommend always picking soldiers when cards are given. If you are losing, your hand is too weak. Avoid bombs. Do not plant a flag within shooting range of a dynamite tower or shotgun tower. Your units will get bunched up and roasted with a single shot. Enemy camps are there to help you. Use them to reinforce your men close to the front. Just have enough antipersonnel units so that the enemy soldiers are not a problem. 4 rifle women seems like enough.
Still great, need dev. attention
I have been playing this game for awhile now and have gotten to level 35 without any of the complaints I have seen in reviews. If people are "raiding all of my resources" it is only because I haven't touched it in several days. Even then it isn't that great an issue. You can advance just fine without spending money on upgrades. Does my town defend against raids as often as I'd like? No. But when I raid I also win much more often than I lose, so it is easy to accumulate resources. It takes strategy. This is what makes it fun.
There is always something to do, which is a huge bonus. Whether posse events, raiding for resources, or exploring new territory, I can stay busy for quite awhile.
You don't have to spend money to enjoy this game. If you want to show it some love, a very minimal investment will add to your chances of getting better cards and more of them.
The missing star for me is that it simply needs some attention. Some players exploit a glitch in which they can raid your town without actually damaging your buildings. It is annoying but not a deal breaker (yet). But it needs to be fixed along with some minor balancing. Unfortunately I think the devs probably have their hands full keeping up with No Man's Land. If they gave this game even a fraction of the attention they give their Walking Dead app, it would be exponentially better.

When the game first came out it was better than Boom Beach. I wrote some nice things about it. They added a few things and made it better. But whether greed or stupidity took over, they have taken the enjoyment out of it. It beats nothing to do, but just barely!! As far as CPW being generous then you weren't here when they took the permanent upgrade that you bought and made it have no chance at a good card. If you spend money on this game that's fine. I hope you have so much cash that you enjoy wasting it. Stick to just playing for fun and realize that spending money will not lead you to more fun. All these kind of games hype you up to spend, and there is no satisfaction in the quick jump. It makes you more impatient and you'll want to spend even more but the fun of the game is waiting to do more and not having it in a blink of an eye. Save your cash for some nice VR gear !!!
