Lots of issues
Still intermittently logs you out every couple days. Was supposedly fixed, but obviously not. Takes a ridiculous amount of time to log into a machine from your phone; other remote apps like LogMeIn make CTRL+ALT+DEL a click away, and save credentials with one request. ScreenConnect makes you take 4 steps to do this, and unlike LogMeIn or other competitors it asks you to do this EVERY single time. It also refreshes too often when going in and out of the app, which makes me accidentally select the wrong machine (desktop has same issue, but obviously far preferable to this mobile version). Its also extremely slow to render visuals, for example with persistent blocky graphics and a delay between clicks despite stable DIA Internet on both ends of the session. Both LogMeIn and TeamViewer are superior in this department, both on mobile and desktop. With all the aforementioned problems this app is minimally useful, but totally useless if you’re trying to get into a computer in under a minute and need smooth visuals while logged in.
Just putting this review out there since there seems to be a lot of non-technical people giving bad reviews.
The new update for the app is fantastic! It’s much more usable now and they made a lot of improvements. Guest mode is awkward, but iOS made it to be awkward so there’s really no getting around that.
The interface is much improved and the ability to move the cursor around without having to find your “mini mouse” like in the old app is great. I’ve always thought teamviewer had a great mobile interface and the latest update from ConnectWise has made their app very comparable as far as the control side goes.
I wish the interface to connect with guests was easier to use. They place a webview in that accesses your screenconnect instance so they’re limited by web technology being a little clunky. If they made that mobile website version cleaner and more usable on mobile devices he whole experience would be a lot easier.
Also, please make the session last longer after logging into the screenconnect server! Seems like I have to type my password every time I want to connect to a guest machine.
I have already started a trial of the server product, which has some positives. But I can't make this app work at all. I can login with Safari in iOS, but this app doesn't do anything. This App is definitely a sales prevention tool from the full paid product. It will likely cause me to remove the product from consideration of the products I'm testing. Don't release an app just for the sake of having one.
Edit. Not sure why your replying to a 4 year old review. I did eventually get the app working, if you can call it an “app” because it really doesn’t seem like it’s designed for mobile, even 4 years later. Overall I’ve been happy with ScreenConnect / Control, fortunately mobile isn’t a high priority for me.
