Start creating solid stories that hold together from Fade In to Fade Out.
Use Contour on its own or export it to your desktop version of Contour when you get back to your Mac. Either way, Contour has you covered.
Step by Step
With its intuitive, fill-in-the-blanks approach, Contour shows you exactly what elements need to be in your script, never again leaving you to wonder, "what comes next?" If you are a screenwriter, this is a must-have tool to tighten up your masterpiece.
The Contour System
The key to the success of the Contour system is the ability to break down a story to a simple structure. Using Contour, you will:
• Answer the 4 simple questions that shape most every screenplay in the top 50.
• Develop the single-sentence logline that lays out your entire script like a roadmap.
• Identify the 4 archetypes every protagonist moves through from "fade in" to "fade out."
• Lay out the 12 foundation beats of ACT ONE.
• Discover a system of breaking down ACT TWO that is so ruthlessly easy you will never get stuck on page 55 again.
• Craft the 4 final beats of ACT THREE that readers and audiences expect and that define your script as marketable and professional. More Contour Features:
• Flesh out a main character and codify their motivations and behaviors.
• Quickly recognize archetypes which protagonists journey through in all the top movies.
• Go from concept to bulletproof outline in less time than ever before.
• Learn a flexible yet exact plot point and beat structure that works for all genres.
• Develop a compelling logline. Need Samples? Want to see even more samples of how Contour works?

PLEASE DON'T DO WHAT I DID!!!
Yes this a great app for typing thoughts while being on the go. However, you better "copy and paste" your efforts after your done because you never know when your phone is going to crash. With that being said, I didn't think I would ever have a problem with my almighty iPhone!!!!! Sorry, anyway I did, and after my phone was fixed, I discovered the the names of, 3:00 in the morning ideas for, research completed, and basically major hours of effort for 15 SCREENPLAYS ARE GONE!
Surpising I'm not as upset as I could be, because these where my ideas and they're all in my head. So to my fellow consumer,..when your finish typing your ideas out, copy and paste it in the "Notes" of your phone, that way if something happens it'll still be somewhere safe.
I'm not going to fault the app, even though my work is gone, I still say the app has helped me tremendously! Just protect yourself and have it saved in otherplaces just in case,....your almighty iPhone gets sick!
If you get an inspiration on the fly this is a great app!
You never know when you'll be hit with an idea for the next big blockbuster, and you need to write it down fast before the ideas take flight. Contour is an excellent app to do this. It is much improved over the last version, and it really gives you all of the tools to write a well-structured screenplay. When a screenplay gets turned down by an agent or a production company, it's largely because the story just falls apart and it starts to meander. Contour gets you to the point of writing something that is solid and doesn't fall down in the second and third act. The only thing I would like to see and this is extremely minor, is in the second act; there needs to be something to indicate that the stakes are being raised so that you are reminded to increase the dramatic tension and the conflict all the way to the end. Kudos to Mariner for being the innovators.
Supplements the REAL screenwriting apps
Five minutes into using this app, I think to myself, "Wow, this really helps me to think about and organize my screenplays in better ways," and then I realize: It's not a screenwriting app. It's merely a screenwriting AID. It helps to wrangle in your ideas and structure them into time-tested formats for good character development, and plot points. It's like the add-on you always wanted in your screenwriting app, and it's a really good add-on... But that's all this is, an add-on. I'll definitely keep it as a reminder of how to do things right, but I'll need another program to actually do those things.
