If you cannot speak, or are just looking to have some fun with text-to-speech, Conversations can help you use your Mac to have a conversation. Build your own lists of phrases to create a vocabulary, and use your lists to quickly respond during a conversation.
There's no time to waste when you're speaking to someone. Luckily, Conversations was designed to as simple and quick as possible. To say a phrase, just click it. If you need to say a phrase that isn't in a list, just start typing it.
• Uses Mac OS X's built-in speech technology and voices
• Supports Cepstral's excellent text-to-speech voices
• More features are being tested
I've been told that it's very fun to order a pizza with Conversations. :)
Good start but needs work
Interface is clean and easy to use. However, the software does not seem to speak if you select anything other than the "default" Mac voices (e.g., Alex, Victoria, etc.). I installed the Samantha voice via system settings and now "Conversations" is silent. I am guessing there are updates in the works, or at least I hope there are!
