Good pacing, progression; inconsistent voice prompts

I have used this app for the last six weeks to build up stamina and re-condition my knee after meniscus surgery. The interval training has definitely been the answer, and this app's pacing feels just right for me. Nice slow start with good increasing run intervals and a variety of runs in a given training week. However where this app needs fine tuning is with the voice notifications to move you from one interval to another. Often I couldn't hear the transitions in my ear buds (even over light traffic or a light wind) or on occasion the voice prompts stopped altogether during a run. I resorted to carrying the iPhone (6) in my hand and relying on visual indicator of walk or run time remaining on an interval. This is not convenient for a runner, and you run the risk of dropping your phone during a run. I made sure that all my settings were correct for validating that these which prompts disappeared. The voice prompts need to be longer than one or two words, they need to be louder and they need to be more consistent and reliable. I use this app along with RunKeeper in order to track my progress, intervals and best times. If they can improve the voice prompts on this app, I would rate this 4 to 5 stars.

Turned a true couch potato into a runner!

I love this app. No, it's not technically perfect. I've had it glitch twice during my runs and completely start over. Yikes! And yes, the trainers can be difficult to hear. For a few weeks I jogged with my phone in my hand until my hubby bought me some fantastic wireless ear buds. Now I can hear the trainer even while listening to loud music. But what I love is how spot-on the actual program is! I have recently lost weight but still have quite a bit to lose. 8 weeks ago I could barely run for one minute. I have never been active or been a runner. I am almost 41. I can now run for 25 minutes straight. Not only that, but somehow, I've turned into a runner. By that I don't mean that I run fast or look good doing it, but that I love it. I love getting out and getting fit. I feel strong! Next month, I <will> run a 5K; I have no doubt. If you are ready to make a change in your life, even if you're old and fat and totally not athletic :), download this app. It has been life changing for me. Thank you C25K!!

Couch to 5k

I was the epitome of "Couch Potato". I was at a point where I would lie in bed until late into the afternoon hours (we're talking until 4:00 p.m.), I would watch Netflix on my phone while in bed because I was too lazy to walk to my computer, and while I was lying in bed, I would reach down and grab the bag of potato chips and the 2 litre of soda that I had brung in there the night before, and that would be my lunch. Then I would have a large pizza delivered to my house and proceed to consume the whole thing. I decided I needed to change my ways. If you can relate to any of the things I've said above, then you need to at least try this app. It's incredibly easy to get into, and while your first week is going to be undoubtedly tough, you have to believe in yourself and your abilities. If you want to change, you can, and Couch to 5k will help you along the way.
