Coverage? focuses on helping mobile bandwidth junkies find cell signal as they roam. Save time looking up coverage on the carrier's websites, compare their claims head to head and better plan your travel routing to stay connected.

** The carrier's maps in your pocket: This app contains regional level maps based off of each major carrier's data map - as found on their website as of our last update. Quickly overlay the carriers you use to create your own personalized coverage map on your device.

** No internet needed: Our proprietary coverage maps are stored within the app on your device - no downloading needed! Quickly access where you're supposed to get a signal, even when you have none.

** Urban and rural areas: Maps are at a regional level, and cover the entire continental USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

** Carriers included: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile

** Know where to roam: view LTE, '4G' (HSPA+), 3G, 2G and roaming areas as inclusive overlays, focus on finding the coverage type you desire.

Coverage FAQ:
Q: Why aren't the maps more detailed or released more often?
A: Our map updates require a lot of meticulous labor intensive processing. There's just no practical way to issue a new update everytime a new tower is turned on. We monitor new coverage and try to find balance between effort & staying current. This generally means at least a couple updates a year.

Q: What makes 'Coverage?' unique?
A: There are great apps out there that collect user submitted signal reports - we recommend them and use them ourselves. However, those apps are only useful in markets with an active user base. We took a different approach with Coverage? - we needed a tool to at least give us an idea of where signal should be - urban, rural, and out in the boonies. Sure, carrier maps aren't a guarantee of where signal actually is, but it sure is helpful to know which direction to head when you need it!

The maps in 'Coverage?' are provided in partnership with Mosaik Solutions, and represent proprietary interpretations of the coverage reported by each carrier. You should not rely on the maps in Coverage to be perfectly precise or absolutely timely.

Ongoing map updates have been free - but to support the ongoing development costs, we now allow customers to subscribe to higher resolution maps that will be updated more frequently.

Coverage does not report or predict signal strength (there are great apps out there for that!). We can make no promises as to where you'll *actually* get signal.. there are too many variables - towers, device, terrain, weather, etc.

So… Got Coverage?

What's New

Version 2018.2

NEW: ‘Coverage?’ can now optionally and anonymously share your location and connection signal strength details with our mapping partner Mosaik to help improve the accuracy of future coverage map updates.

Absolutely no identifying data is collected in this process.

Information is only shared when this app is open and in the foreground, and this feature is designed to have minimal impact on battery and cellular data usage.

Mosaik will use the collected data to update the crowdsourced maps in their Sensorly app, and eventually the collected data will help improve the maps here in 'Coverage?' as well to better take into account real world signal conditions.

You will be prompted to participate when you next open the app. This setting can be changed later by selecting "Learn About Data Collection" on the Info screen at any time.

ALSO: This release includes updated maps for all carriers and regions, improvements to the HD map version information, and a support email address has been added to the Info Screen.

Surprisingly useful

This is a great app I’ve used for years. I work for the cellular industry and am constantly surprised how accurate these maps are (knowing how the original source maps are created by the carrier).

The developer is regularly updating the app (thanks for X support!) and has not implemented ads or other user unfriendly things. The upgrade subscription is the only additional thing some people like me would want. I’m slowly starting to accept subscription models as developers need a consistent revenue to fund their operations.

Totally recommend for the curious and almost required for anyone in the cellular industry!

Fantastic and always updated!

This is the very definition of a 5 - star app. Useful and constantly updated every few months. I paid for this app years ago and it’s been updated regularly.

Update: It's great that the developers are continually updating this application, they implementing useful features and this app is definitely worth a good look.

Update: looks like the developers just updated the app to include AT&T 4G information. I'm hoping to see future updates with more detailed coverage and even more importantly, roaming coverage in Canada for Verizon & AT&T.

This application does what it says and does it competently. Updates like more detail, higher resolution maps and a search function would be very helpful.

Showing additional coverage in Canada for AT&T and Verizon would also be useful. Hoping to see more updates soon!

Updated to HD and app crashed 100%. Fixed.

Updated subscription on iPhone 7+. Info page still says "No Subscription". Selecting "Restore Purchases" and app crashes 100% of the time. iPad version works properly. App support site doesn't let you submit a bug report so I'm doing it here.
Update: Subscription issue fixed with new update. Updating review to 4 stars. If the app support email address was easier to find it would be 5 stars.

Developer Response

The newest version of 'Coverage?' has an issue with restoring HD map subscriptions that for some users causes a crash. This issue only showed up in the live Appstore, not in Apple's testing environment.

We have now been able to duplicate the crash, and have submitted an update to Apple that should fix the issue. Hopefully Apple will approve it soon.

Thank you for the feedback, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
