Crackle Ads are RIDICULOUS! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP!
Unless you really like sitting through 5 minutes of commercials every 10 minutes do not waste your time with this app! The excessive number of ads and the seemingly endless ad breaks MIGHT BE TOLERABLE IF (AND ONLY IF) THERE WAS A DECENT SELECTION, unfortunately Crackle's TV & Movie selection is PATHETIC! The only reason I haven't deleted it (yet) is because they're the only streaming service I've found that carries one of my all time favorite shows, Newsradio (but even then they only carry 1 of the show's 5 seasons). But, even though I love this show, the number of ads makes it almost impossible to watch! Sitting through a 5 minute commercial break every 10 minutes for a 30 minute program is not just RIDICULOUSLY EXCESSIVE BUT REALLY AGGRAVATING & ANNOYING! That's why I rarely bother unless I'm really Jonesing for a NEWSRADIO FIX But even then I can only stand 1 or 2 episodes at MOST before I quit watching out of sheer disgust. So in a nutshell I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP UNLESS IT IS THE ONLY PLACE TO SEE A FAVORITE SHOW! Otherwise DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
Worst app ever!! Should be banned!!
I used to use crackle years ago because it had certain shows to watch that I couldn't find anywhere else. Just downloaded it again to watch some of those same old shows and what a mistake and huge waste of my time. Not only do they just have only 5 episodes of the show when before it was more there was so many ads and commercials that I lost count. And to make it even worse the app kept crashing so I couldn't even finish watching the episodes I was watching. And don't let me start with the auto play crap as soon as you open the app. That was horrible. This is by far the worst streaming app ever. It should just be banned and never heard of again.
Auto-play must die [Revised]
Why, why, why do "updates" so often degrade an app instead of making it better? I get that someone thought picture-in-picture was cool, but it's not cool to ram it down our throats without some way of turning it off by default. [Edit: The app's version history says that you can swipe down to get rid of that stupid distraction. After swiping down repeatedly in vain, I tried swiping up, right, and the left. Voila, left-swipe gets rid of it.
Nevertheless, I don't need or want to divide my attention between what I want to do and what Sony wants to auto-shove in my face. It just makes the app annoying.
