If it only remembered where I stopped, and if I could search patterns

I resisted downloading this app for a while because I don't like to clutter my iPad with apps that don't do anything I can't do from a website, but after purchasing a couple of classes I decided I'd try it. Be forewarned: it's primarily a place to view and buy classes. You can't look for or buy patterns in this app, which I find a huge shortcoming. I still have to go to the website. If you already own a pattern you can view it and that works well.

I do like it for watching classes. It's a great way to view your classes and patterns/instructions. They load really fast and look great, and with my iPad stand I have it right next to me while sewing. It has one big problem: it doesn't remember where you left off in middle of a class, so if you pause a while and go back, your video has been unloaded and you have to find where you were. It has bookmarks so you can save your spot manually, but I never seem to remember to do it. Sometimes the voice gets a little out of sync with the video it's pretty easy to get it back in sync.

I didn't think I'd bother putting it on my phone because I'd never use the small screen while sewing, but it I did load it on my phone so I have quick access to all my patterns and class materials lists while shopping.

Craftsy gives you a front row seat in HD!

I am a home baker and started cake decorating 4 years ago. I never thought that I would pay for lessons on the Internet. BUT the types of sugar flowers that I needed to make weren't out there, or the directions were confusing. AND then along came Craftsy, there are even some beginner classes that are free to help you get started. Hands downs if there was only one app that I could have, it would be this one! You can stop the lessons when you want, there is a class supply list, the teachers are top notch, and they are constantly adding new classes. My only complaint is deciding which class to choose! Oh, and they have a store you can order items through. The cake decorating prices are good, with free shipping if you spend $99. It had been a dream of mine to take a class with Nicholas Lodge, and now I can through Craftsy. Thanks Craftsy, keep up the great work in the cake decorating department.

I am a Woodworker with about 4 years of experience

I found this app from their website and started using it to refresh my skills on equipment that I haven't used in a while. My shop has a SawStop 36 inch contractor saw, double bevel sliding chop saw, planner, jigsaw, drill press, router table and numerous power and hand tools. As I build various either pieces of furniture, shop storage projects and or display cases I find that I use different equipment depending on the needs or choices I make to piece. As most woodworkers know you can do the same cuts on a saw, router or special jig with hand tools. These lessons from Craftsy give you hints you might have forgotten or didn't think existed with the experts that show you how to do it correctly and safely. Most importantly they remind you how to properly set up your equipment and keep it running right. All in all and great refresher course or just a great learning "how to course".
