Will not work with ATT wireless service.

UPDATE Dec 2016: The developers continued to work the non-wifi problem and got it solved. I was told that ATT was blocking the port needed for cellular functionality. I just tried it and it worked. Kudos to the developers for perseverance. Changed my rating back to 5 star.

This was a really good app until recently. I put in a work order about a month ago trying to find out why I could not connect to their service when I don't have Wifi. I have had multiple conversations with them over the month. I was told that their is a problem ("I absolutely understand your frustration with the current state of our mobile app. Our engineers are working hard to resolve the issue") with ATT wireless but they are working to get it fixed. I have had this service for 2 years and, unfortunately I rely on it a lot. My only recourse will be to change to another service if it cannot be fixed. Better to lose the last 2 years of my subscription that to have a worthless app that I cannot use on my iPhone or iPad.

Nothing exciting but helpful

I back up my media storage drive with crash plan and it would be great if I could view my photos and videos on my mobile (or desktop) device without having to download each fine individually. Sort of like a cloud media viewer (even including thumbnails of the photos next to the file name would be helpful) but really, flicking through my old photos that, currently, I can only access at home when I plug in my media drive, would be a huge perk to the app and make it more useful.

Original review:
Love the crashplan service. The website is fresh and updated but ALL their software is outdated looking and slightly archaic. Not sure if there's much more functionality the app needs but it's nothing to write home about. Let's you access your stuff (biggest perk) but can't seem to see what else it lets you do as far as manage your backup system. Maybe some more specs, graphs, or a history log of what's been backed up and when?

Complexity Hidden Inside Simplicity

I was very surprised that this "no frills" App was able to provide the level of functionality it does. Too often we see apps that are artfully done but offer looks without utility. After uploading my entire computer filing system into Crashplan's database using my MacBook, I discovered that this App gave me mobile access to every (and I do mean every) single file I have ever created or owned.

The app organizes the files exactly as they are in my computer. Additionally, I can download files directly onto my mobile device and can open them as long as they not not a proprietary file type with no apps to open them.

Personally, I really appreciate how easy it is to use this app and feel that its greatest strength is its minimalistic and direct approach.

If you have CrashPlan, you should have this app. That being said, if you are deciding to use CrashPlan and are weighing your decision based only on this app, please realize that you are only seeing a fraction of the whole picture. The real service exists via your computer and that service is awesome!
