What is Crayon Ball?
Crayon Ball is a physics based color matching puzzle game. The concept is similar to Bejeweled or Snood (but with realistic physics!).
When a group of 4 colored balls touch, they will pop and an avalanche of new balls will tumble in to take their place. Quickly and strategically tap out balls to set up your next match and add to an ever growing combo by consecutively creating matches. But be wary brave Crayon Baller... for every tap brings you a little bit close to game over. With every tap the DANGER BAR! at the bottom of the screen will fill up. But what is a brave Crayon Baller to do? Why, of course there is only one solution; match colors and score huge points. With every match you make the DANGER BAR! will drop a little. Can you be the greatest Crayon Baller in history? That is doubtful, because my grandfather Warren Von Crayonballbustington III was that greatest Crayon Ball player to ever live... but maybe... just maybe with enough practice... one day... you might be the very best.
What are magical animals saying about Crayon Ball?
"Crayon Ball is the friendliest friend that I have ever had, and I do not use this term lightly, because I have had over 1 million friends visit me in imagination land" -- Zebracorn, the magical zebracorn.
"NOM NOM NOM CRRAYONZ BALL AM DELICIOUS!! RAAAUAUUURRRGHHHH!!!1 iPHONE IS ALSO DELICIOUS!! IT TASTES LIKE WALL SOCKET!" -- Reptilladon, the fire breathing dinosaur.
What's New in Version 1.6
Added PlayHaven support and upgraded to the latest Chipmunk Physics version.
Cute, fun color matching game with a little physics fun thrown in...
Colored balls fall from the top of the screen to pile up, roll and jostle against each other in the play area using realistic physics. Your goal is to build sets of 4 or more balls with matching colors by popping wrong-colored balls that are in the the way with a finger tap. Each ball you pop moves the "danger" meter (the colored bar at the bottom of the screen) towards the right edge of the screen and the end of the game, each match of 4 or more balls moves it back to the left to lengthen the game. Making multiple group matches between taps scores big combo points and moves the danger bar even farther back to the left.
As you pop or clear groups, more balls fall from the top to constantly keep the screen full. The game uses the device's built in accelerometer so you can tilt the device during play to try to get balls to fall one way or another to help you make matches. The game is given extra interest by the occasional appearance of balls with special effects, such as locked balls that can't be popped, explosive balls that go BOOM and take out a whole area of balls when matched and wild card balls that match any color. Crayon ball runs smoothly, works well and is lots of fun to play. I would give it the fifth star if it had game-center integration.
I'm crazy about crayon balls!!
The Van Gogh setting has the feel of playing with a moving piece of art! I love it!! You've totally captured the look of Starry Night in a playful & whimsical way. I can't help but wonder what the artist himself would think of this fun medium for showcasing his unique style. Nice!
