This companion app for the popular new exhibition Creatures of Light: Nature's Bioluminescence offers a close look at some of the extraordinary organisms that produce light. Enjoy interactive animations, photo galleries, and videos that reveal the beauty of this amazing natural phenomenon, how it works, and how scientists study it. Each chapter of the app, which is adapted from the iPad content featured throughout the exhibition gallery, is set to a symphonic soundtrack composed exclusively for Creatures of Light.
Great navigation, animation, and information
I'm comparing this app to many I've seen that present huge amounts of information with no indication of how to find anything or even what the overall idea is behind it, not to mention who the creator is. Compared to those, this app is a model of usability. Information is presented in engaging, digestible chunks, in a few different schemes. The app subtly gestures how to proceed. I was able to move at my own pace, in the app's suggested direction or in one of my own choice. I could get to the title screen and table of contents from any point, and from there, read the credits. As a teaching and reference tool, it could use a Search function, but otherwise, using it is a very enjoyable experience.
This app was thoroughly fascinating and educational at the same time. It is almost as good as being able to see the exhibit in person, and because I live in Florida, it's second best. Thank you to the developer for making a clever, well-thought out app that makes you want to read more. I loved having the ability to interact with the text.
I disagree with the narration request only because that would take away from the awesome interaction. Sliding through images and popping up text bubbles kept the app entertaining. Definitely an app to download!
Loved the exhibition and thanks for the app
I saw the exhibition at the museum of natural history when I was in NYC earlier this month. I really loved the exhibits. Spent 2.5 hours reading everything and checking all the interactive stuff, plus the iPad apps on the iPads they have at the museum.
Thanks for offering this to the public for free.
For people who can't make it to the museum, the app basically cover all the same topics in as much details as the physical exhibit. You obviously cannot see the models in 3D on the app, but that's about the only thing you missed.
