Have you ever looked at a food label and not known what some of the ingredients were? Shopping was easy when most food came from farms. Now, factory-made foods have made chemical additives a significant part of our diet. Chemical Cuisine, from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, features a searchable and filterable list of food additives, their descriptions, and safety ratings to help you make healthy decisions. Learn about a new additive every time you start up the app on the Home screen. When CSPI updates or adds new information about a food additive, the Chemical Cuisine app will let you know by displaying a badge on the additive.

-- Over 130 food additives with detailed entries and expert evaluation.
-- No internet connection required to use!
-- Automatically updated anytime you have an internet connection with latest entry updates.

Addressing bug issues first, since that seems to be the only issues other people are having. I find that with my iPhone, I don't have bug issues with apps like people do that have other smart phones. So iPhone users, this app works perfectly!!

As far as the app, GAH, its a gift from Heaven practically! Very, very easy to use and understand! LOVE IT!!!

I wrote a book report on this when I was in 5th grade...

and yet the chemicals are still in our food decades later. This is really helpful and also lets me show my children what kind of dangerous additives are in the foods they want to eat every day. Thanks for putting this together is an easy to read and access format!

Good info and no bugs here

I don't have any issues using the app and I trust CSPI's information. Yes, sucralose (Splenda) has been through much more rigorous testing than rebiana (stevia, Truvia, PureVia) to prove its safety. Just because something is "natural" doesn't make it safe! More testing is needed. Until then, I'll stick with sucralose. Thank you CSPI for making this resource!
