An Obituary

The cloud storage space has brought with it a lot of noise in the form of indistinguishable services that very by the minor introduction of features or small variations in their business plan. Cubby stood apart. On desktop clients, it allowed multiple different folders to be synchronized, thus allowing e.g. app configurations to be shared between machine. On both mobile and desktop, it offered a clean, easy-to-use interface. And it offered relatively granular control over synching and sharing. In the broader marketplace, it offered a nice balance between the simplicity (and ubiquity) of Dropbox and the fine-tuned control of Box. You will be missed.

[Yes, LogMeIn, who purchased Cubby, does offer a replacement. Unfortunately, their offering fails to capture the features that made Cubby both valuable and distinct. At this point, you're better going with Dropbox or Google Drive if you're an individual, or Box or Microsoft OneDrive if you're a business.]

Almost 5 stars

Does everything very well as advertised. Only one big oversight. IF you have any files stored on a server or remote NAS device on your network the files do not sync very well or at all.
My workaround for the time being is to turn off sync when i get to the office and then turn it on at the end of the day to force cubby to scan the folder after i have done all of my work for the day. otherwise the changes i make at work do no get synced.
If this issue is fixed it would be a 5 star app in my opinion.

Seamless and fast syncing

I had been looking for a cost effective replacement for Sugarsync so that I could keep my documents and folders in sync across multiple Macs and a work computer and I found it. Cubby allows me to seamlessly and quickly keep everything synced up without having to move everything into a central folder; everything can stay where it is. The price is reasonable and great service.
