Welcome to the world of Cultiwords, a unique word-of-the-day game created by the team here at The Learning Club to boost your vocabulary and to improve your memory.
Short term memory can be improved through simple word games and new additions to your personal dictionary. The capacity to use a word in context calls upon long term memory storage. With this application, raise the bar by learning new words, reviewing the memorized ones, keeping track of them in your personal vocabulary bank.
Get the app now and you can start with a 40-words set, including definitions, anecdotes and several review questions. You can then get more specific vocabulary sets within the app!
What could I learn?
For example, would you be able to define the word « moot »? We say that a « moot » point is a subject of debate that does not come to a given endpoint.
With Cultiwords, in just several minutes per day, words such as "moot" will become familiar.
Who are we?
The Cultiwords team consists of highly intelligent humanoids, neurobiologists, developmental scientists, and information experts. Our goal is to spice up each users' vocabulary, one word at a time.
What's New in Version 1.2.0
- Finally: 3 new collections! Discover new words with our new French Cuisine, Ecology and SAT Preparation collections!
- Fixed some bugs
- Minor improvements
Fun little vocabulary builder. It has a great definition which includes usage examples to really help you learn how to properly use a word you don't often hear colloquially. It reviews after a time as well so you don't forget the word immediately. It has ads and you buy more word packs, which caused me to drop a star but great overall. Would recommend.
Not idiomatic, a bit easy
The interface and concept are good, but some the discussions of the words are misleading and not really idiomatic or natural English--almost as if written by a non-native speaker or at least someone to whom the words aren't wholly natural to use. Also, there should be an option to bypass words you already know very well. I played for about half an hour without encountering any words that were unfamiliar.
Great app for everyone
Has a really nice vocabulary list, the app also helps you memorize the words and it gives you their origin. Would recommend it for the kids to build up a good vocabulary.
