Customer Reviews

By far the best!

I'm not particularly happy about any app that has a subscription tied to it. I'll say that right off the bat. However, I gladly make an exception for this app as it is beyond comprehensive when it comes to everything from detailed mapping, device integration and statistics that are beyond anything I could ever ask for (for example, getting mile-split stats with current temperatures during those individual splits!!!). I've been using Cyclemeter for about 4 years now and use it at least once a week for my Saturday club rides. I get real-time feeds to social media and immediate posting to competitive products like Strava. It's a memory hog so you need to make sure that you're not running a lot of other programs at the same time, but given the complexity of this program, I am not surprised. I really like that feature of being able to customize your screens. For example I have a customize screen where it gives me eight fields of my most favorite items along with a real-time map all on the same screen. Though the online support for this program is a bit lacking, I have to say that email tech-support is incredible. I emailed them, recently, to ask them a question about importing maps. It was around 7:30am on a Saturday and they got back to me within 10 minutes with a very detailed response on how to fix the issue! Where do get customer service like that these days?

Great cycling app, missing Fitbit compatibility

I've been using Cyclemeter for about four years, and have to say it has everything you need for showing you live stats while cycling, and does a great job of saving and storing that info for comparisons. There are many customizable options to choose from to make it your own, it takes a little time to figure out, but once you do you'll see many useful features. I just upgraded to elite version, and I've got to say it was well worth it, not disappointed. If you can't afford the .83 cents a month for the elite version, then the free version will do just fine, just don't expect to get all the bells and whistles. I was fine with the free version for the first four years, but I wanted more for the health stats. The only problem I have with the app is there's no Fitbit compatibility in order to be able to see my heart rate while cycling. In order to do that I need to buy a compatible monitor. It would be nice to see Fitbit compatibility in the future. Other than that, the Cyclemeter app is something that every serious cyclist should have on their phone for essential stat keeping.

Long Term Review of Cyclemeter

Way back in 2011 I wrote my first review of Cyclemeter (but I didn't remember that I'd done it). Now, after a great support person helped me with a minor isssue, I wanted to make sure that people knew that I'm still just as happy with the app.

Here's my original review....
It took some arm twisting from one of my friends to spend $5 -but WOW, worth every penny and more. I've been riding a recumbent for about 13 years now but have recently gotten more serious and am riding three times a week. My short weekday rides (15-20 miles) are over a set of routes that I've now saved into Cyclemeter and I use it to motivate me and keep my speed up. I've set the app to talk to me every two miles and when I hear that I'm 18 seconds behind my best time...well I try to make it up. Even if I'm having a slower day (after all you can't always be better) I am motivated to give it my all every time I ride. Also, as one of the moderators of my cycling group, I'm using Cyclemeter to map new routes for the group and post the Google short URL of the route when I post a ride. And...the tech support is great.
