Daily Jotter is a simple notepad that automatically provides a new page every day. It is ideal for storing notes and snippets of information that you want to return to later - just like a paper note book.

NOTE that minimum version of OS X is Lion version 10.7.3.

* A new page every day
* Save as you type
* Print any entry
* Entries list window
* Find text across all entries using the Entries list window
* Print multiple entries
* Export any entry
* Fast start up

As it creates a new page every day, you can be sure that when you open it on a new day, a blank sheet is waiting for you.

Daily Jotter will automatically save your notes as you type, so you never need to worry about losing your work. It has also been designed to be fast, so don't worry about exiting the application; it will start up again quickly when you need it!

You can navigate between days by selecting the "Previous" or "Next" buttons on the toolbar or using the menu items on the Page menu. The "Today" button will return you to the page for today.

===== USER REVIEWS =====

"I used to keep TextEdit open all the time and have a million little text documents always floating around on my desktop unsaved. I wanted an app I could leave open on my desktop as a "scratch pad" to jot down notes, snippets, addresses, phone numbers or anything else I wanted to capture. I wanted a new page daily with the old pages to be kept and searchable. Daily Jotter is very clean and simple. It does no more or less than I needed. You get a page for every day. Edits are auto-saved as you make them. You can search through your history of pages and see which days you actually wrote something. It's simple and it saves me from my own disordered mind." - John Arnold

"I'm really enjoying this app since it's just really simple and quick! You jot down things you want to remember and you can return to it exactly the way it was without having to save anything." - Hanseul Choi

"Turns out the simplest app that I downloaded is the one I use the most." - atldkw5

okay for one-time notes

This app has two major flaws. First, it does not allow you to search previous pages, searches are limited to the page you are working on. That’s pretty useless because I definitely remember what I am writing on a certain day, but I may not remember on which day I visited aunt Sue. To find aunt Sue, you have to manually click your way back until you see her name. Second, the spell checker is rather annoying. You can turn it off only for the page you are working on. The next day, it’s automatically back on. This makes it useless when you enter non-dictionary words or when you use two languages simultaneously, e.g. you write in English but talk about a German event. The spell checker will replace the German word with whatever it thinks fit, and does not necessarily do so immediately. Sometimes it leaves the word as is but corrects it a few seconds later when you have already typed three more sentences and don’t notice the change.
The app is useful only if you jot things down daily and never look back again.

Exactly what I wanted for an excellent price

I have spent over $100 trying to find a simple app for taking small, random notes on the events of the day, something that isn't a full-fledged word process or a day planner. I already have those. Daily jotter stays at the upper right of my screen, and allows me to put small notes on it throughout the day as a daily record of events (yes, it keeps track of which day it is). Sometimes I just use it briefly as a clipboard for pasting various parts of an article, followed by pasting the various notes in a larger program such as DevonThink.

This program is stable, it stays put until I need it, and it is precisely what it aims to be. It is a date-oriented daily record of events, like the right-hand page of a Franklin Day Planner.
