Great game, but...

Beautiful artwork & music. Very fun game to play...except...
I really don't like how the whole screen 'jumps' around when you zoom in on the HOS. Some hotspots were overly sensitive, some were not. Sometimes I could be tapping an object, and the item 3 objects down would be the one to act as if 'clicked'...while other items I could tap repeatedly and not get it to activate until I found the exact little clickable area.
I LOVED how you could interact hidden objects with other ones...and that the game didn't give a 'tell-all' light as to where to use it.
Did not like the constant "that only happens in the movies"...esp when all I'm trying to do is release a 'holdable' object. Also, journal revealed stuff that hadn't yet happened. While I don't even enjoy reading all the journal stuff when it basically just repeats what I'm doing, I really didn't like reading about what had yet to happen.
Bonus scene...had a glitch after I attached the valve and flooded the dungeon...I was transported to the cliff scene...but had no end of game cut-scene. I can still go into the rooms that are now flooded. I looked at the guide, and the game was supposed to end after attaching valve. It didn't.

Constant Crashes

Edit: How come so many posts say the bugs have been fixed when I just finished the games with an astounding amount of technical issues?
If this is the 'fixed' version the original must've been basically unplayable.
Seriously disappointing on so many levels.

The game would've been fantastic (I loved the layout/story/music/ambiance) and would've earned a five star rating from me...

Constant crashes booted me out of the game entirely. Often not saving the place where is was at in the game.
Simple tasks were extremely difficult due to poor tool control game acknowledgement of tool use. (One example... Yes, we all know crowbars are used for manhole covers!!! Does it have to be that hard? I could've opened a REAL manhole cover in the time it took to get it to work.)

The journal updated early several times ruining plot points and puzzles.

Lastly, the game cut out entirely at the end of the bonus material and when I brought it up again it started the bonus segment over at the beginning!!!

After struggling through the entire game and bonus game I got robbed of the ending. I'm not going to replay it again. And it's very, very unlikely that ill buy the sequel.

Easily one of the most frustrating games I've played. Don't spend the money until things get fixed!

OK game

The graphics are gorgeous and so is the soundtrack.

The biggest downside is that the game doesn't have much replay value - once you beat it, that's it. The game would be improved if items and their locations were randomized in the hidden object scenes. Eternal (endless) Angels and Demons would make for a nice mini-game. I also expected there to be more objects that needed to be revealed by steps, the further you got in. There actually seemed to be fewer.

(I was also a little disappointed that you didn't actually get to go upstairs in the hotel or check out the room with the ghost. What a tease.)

It would also be nice if the game prompted you if you were sure you wanted to skip a puzzle. There were a couple of times where I was *this* close to finishing a puzzle and I'd accidentally hit the skip button.

The touch controls in the book puzzle are a little buggy - the books don't slide easily. The pickle in the basement of James' house also seems to have a very finicky contact point.
