DataGraph is a combination of statistical tool, visual data exploration and a drawing program. You can enter in data, import data from huge text files or Excel spreadsheets, modify manually or massage using arbitrary expressions and numerical methods. You can compute statistics such as function fits, multivariate fits, histograms, box and whisker. DataGraph has a really powerful pivot action that allows you to drill into the data and slice and slice it to explore the data. You can create publication quality graphs with easy and control every aspect of the graph or let DataGraph handle it for you. Export as bitmaps or pdf/eps/svg vector graphics.
DataGraph allows you to manipulate tens of millions of data values in real time, with changes done live as you vary sliders and select menu options.
A free trial is available from the DataGraph web site, so it is easy to see it for yourself before you purchase. Be sure to view the manual that is available through the Help menu, and ask questions by mail or on the discussion board.
DataGraph is created by the same company that made DataTank, a high end scientific application which won the Apple Design Awards in 2005 as the best Mac OS X Scientific Computing Solution.

Nothing Like It
Hands down…the best graphical software one can get on the Mac. Version 4.0 rocks!
I've searched for years and years for the right Mac OS X plotting / graphing program. I've been an ardent Kaleidagraph fan, from my earlier OS 9 bouts with Deltagraph and CricketGraph. For simple schoolwork to sophfisticated journal-style graphics, it was always a chore to prepare exactly the graphic representation of my data with everything in the past (albeit KG was pretty good). Now I've played with DataGraph and discovered it is truly the Mac OS X app extraordinaire! You really need to download the demo version from the web site, play with it with an intent to understand what data graphing and function fitting should be without the underlying programming in something like Plot or R, and you'll quickly realize this app can't be beat. There will always be one or two small things that I as a single user would like to see different or added, so we'll see how well the program is updated (their website suggest 2-3 per year) but I'm happy to say I look forward to using this program quite often. Price is steep, but once again, when you realize what you've just bought and what it can do, I think you'll find it is a fair price. Let's hope some simple 3D graphing is added from their academically-bent professional DataTank.
Better than Excel in almost every way
As a undergraduate science student, DataGraph allows me to make extremely detailed graphs and charts that I need for my lab reports. Its better than excel in almost every way and it can handle huge amounts of data. Definitley worth the price for me!
