Prepare yourself for the ultimate sci-fi adventure by entering the hilarious and sizzling world of The Baconing created by Hothead Games.
You are DeathSpank, a hero and the ultimate Dispenser of Justice. You must defeat the Anti-Spank and his army of Cyborques, before they cast an evil shadow over Spanktopia.
Unaware of the myth of The Baconing, the hero DeathSpank, on a boring day in Spanktopia, decided to try on all of the thong undergarments at once. Much to his surprise, the result had nothing to do with chafing or wedgies, but rather the summoning of an evil incarnation of himself, the AntiSpank.
Balance can only be restored to the world by entering the Fires of Bacon and destroying five of the thongs. Now, DeathSpank travels the lands to find a sizzling solution to vanquish the AntiSpank and bring about peace once again to Spanktopia.

The Holy Hand Grenade
This is not a simple game. You cannot complete it in a night. Or a few days. Well... maybe you can but you'll have to devote more than the two or so hours I devoted to each gaming session. It is long. There are a lot of quests and things to do. I mean that as a compliment, because I actually felt like the first game was a little too short. The armor skins and descriptions were also even funnier than the first two installations in the series.
I do miss the bazookas from "Thongs of Virtue", but you still have the grenades. When all else fails, throw a grenade. Honestly. Even if you die in the process.
The story is funny and the jokes are great. I suggest you take a careful look around at the scenery as you move, as there are a few interesting things cut into mountainsides and such. Computer science people will die laughing. You'll also recognized (with humor) some of the characters from the last games, and some popular mythology characters.
It was also not an easy game. You have to think a bit for many of the puzzles and there are certain strategies you have to use for certain mobs (which are changeable, depending on your playing style).
The ending was also hilarious. Cheers!
This Game Is A Riot!
I laughed as much as many hours as I spent playing the game. You instantly fall in Love with DeathSpank. His Hilarious Dialogue portrays him as an aloof, but congenial hero. The quests are fun. I never got the feeling that I was being pushed around from quest to quest just to pass the time. They really did a great job at keeping the story line moving.
My only complaint: In order to get the full experience from this game, you absolutely must purchase a gamepad. I recommend the Logitech F310. Believe it or not, it's hard to find a good game controller that works on the MAC as MACintosh did not think to make one. ROLL MY EYES> If you do purchase the Logitech F310, make sure you switch the control pad on the bottom of the controller to 'D' before you plug it in. It's the only way it will work.
Back to DeathSpank. Great Game, Great Graphics, Great Storyline. 5 Stars All The Way!
Definitely not what I expected.
I loved Deathspank, and I loved Thongs of Virtue. I was happy to pay for them, and I really thought that their value was immense for the cost. I bought The Baconing without hesitation. I'm a bit disappointed with it, overall. The combat is often times way too hard, and leaves the player depleting themselves of healing items - if they aren't defeated, in which case they will respawn frustratingly far from the spot of the character's death. The graphics are wonderful (the best of the three games) but the worlds seem tedious and uninteresting compared to the other two. The flow is very linear and takes from the length and part of the fun of revisiting other parts of the map. Also, the missions are either way too easy, or way too drawn out and confusing. Again, not a bad game, but definitely not what I had hoped for when compared to its predecessors.
