No complicated gestures or swipes; the interface explains itself. Tracks look gorgeous in our custom built player with large and easy to use buttons.
With our track picker, sized perfectly for the iPad, you can comfortably control your iPod when your device is out of your hands such as when on a desk, dashboard, or docked in a home theater.
We design apps that we enjoy using ourselves. We love using deck to play podcasts while we work, in the kitchen while cooking, and even resting by the treadmill while we run. We're sure you'll love it as much as we do and can't wait to hear all the places you use deck.
Our team is passionate about every app we build. Every pixel is looked over carefully to ensure it's right. We would love to hear from you. Any comments, suggestions are welcome via twitter, @szello.
What's New in Version 1.0.0
- New icon!
- Song picker improvements
- Various bugs fixed
- Speed improvements
great for v1, but needs key improvements
First off, the interface is fantastically simple and simply fantastic, especially for a v1.0.0. I spent half a day looking for something like this--my search is over :) Basically, I was looking for a good balance between simplicity and control over music. Except that I don't listen to music with this, I listen to my language audio files. To make this a really fantastic app I'd add a couple more buttons: -5 secs, +5 secs, +30 secs, *or* cue buttons such as we had on cd & tape players (remember those?). Of course, long presses on the current prev/next buttons could help achieve this too. Note to developer: the current "previous" and "next" buttons have the same style as the "cue forward" and "cue backward" buttons, so these should be modified according to convention. Along these lines, an indication of where you are in the track when sliding the track location is currently missing; presumably this will be added in a future version. None of these changes will compromise the current simplicy of layout and ease of use.
Can't wait to upgrade to five stars!
Exactly what I was looking for.
I use the iPad to practice drumming along with songs, but the stock player's controls are tiny and are difficult to use in a hurry, especially when reaching over at full arm's length. This app was recommended by some other drummers I know, and now I know why--it is incredibly easy to use for this purpose. And that :30 instant-rewind button is mar-vel-ous.
I could wish the seek/scan bar were full-screen-width when the iPad was horizontal, but using it vertically isn't that terrible. It'd also be nice if it had track markers that I could set up to loop a given section... but that's a fairly specific-use feature I didn't expect to see anyway.
Very much enjoying this app, and will be enjoying it for a long time. Thanks!
Love it, even works with undownloaded iTunes Match tracks!
I keep my iPad in a little dock next to my external display when My MacBook Air is hooked up at my desk. The built in music player is alright but this is a perfect addition to the desk setup. To my surprise it even shows all of my iTunes Match tracks even though none of them are downloaded on the device.
I don't give up all five stars often but this app is worthy. The 3D effect of the buttons (especially when pressed) is beautiful. Definitely worth the $2.
One teeny thing: the song / artist text could be a little more polished with a varying shadow based on the color of the album art but it looks fine from a short distance at my desk.
