What's New in Version 1.6.3

Just a little update from Team Deckset:

# Ready for macOS Sierra

We’ve noticed a couple of issues with the beta release of macOS Sierra, these are fixed now, just in time for the big OS update.

# Keyboard shortcut for theme switching

It’s fun to flick through themes in Deckset. Even more so now that we’ve added a keyboard shortcut: CMD+[ and CMD+] …go give it a try! :)

If you like the updates, please leave us a rating on the Mac App Store. It helps a lot.

Ok, would be better if you could edit the themes

Deckset was a great idea, but most of the people I know that used it have stopped for one reason:
The themes are all fixed and you can't edit them.

Deckset uses markdown which makes it perfect for programmers, web designers, etc...
However that same group of people are also very capable of updating the underlying CSS that make the themes.

It's a bit unfortunate, as this app seems to have been started with the intention of doing a proof of concept that never matured into a full proper app of this kind.

A step forward would be to allow the user to customize each theme, and or import and export themes.

Two steps forward would be to have a theme library users could upload/download themes to.

if something like this existed, there'd no doubt be 100's of themes available by now.

Overall, it's a great app, and it works as it advertises, just be aware that your slideshows will look exactly like everyone else.

One of my favorite apps

I’m a teacher and have to make loads of presentations. I used to spend hours tinkering with settings on Keynote or PowerPoint. I like minimalist design, but this still took me forever. With Deckset I’m now zipping through this process. I basically just sit down and type out the key points—interruption free now. The best thing is that these slides look much better than my old ones.

I hope they continue developing this and adding more themes. Go to the website and download the trial version if you're not sure this is right for you. You must know markdown, but you can learn that in a few minutes.

Wish list: I really really wish I could export as pdf with three sildes on a page.

Changing fonts or exporting image only PDF are needed.

If you use SlideShare or Speacker Deck with non-alphabet characters, it will not works well as you expected. Changing fonts or exporting image only PDF are needed.
