Description

“Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise. Loathsomeness waits and dreams in the deep, and decay spreads over the tottering cities of men.”

- H.P. Lovecraft

“Deep Terror” Is in your hands, the invocation book that will take you to the core of human horror. To get there, you must wander different landscapes, solving enigmatic puzzles that will allow you to confront beings from beyond who will give you the knowledge you need to make the final invocation.

Will you be able to deal with great Q’thul and his devils without going mad on the way?

Okay puzzles, no variety

From the description, I expected a various kinds of puzzles, not the same type through the whole game. I enjoyed the string puzzles, though the difficulty level was never that high even in the higher levels. No directions but it isn't hard to figure out how to play.

The Lovecraft connection was of no importance to me, as I'm only vaguely familiar with his works. This feels like a work in progress rather than a completed game. Short and enjoyable enough if you like those type of puzzles, but not an outstanding game.

A Lovely Lovecraftian Puzzler

The puzzles have a singular depth, although they do get more complex as the game progresses by adding nodes which require an increasing number of connections.

Lines can not cross each other and they can't pass through the edge of a node. So as the webs become more complex, a degree of experimentation (or planning) becomes necessary.

Thankfully there is a back button that reverses your moves one step at a time so you can fix a mistake without having to start over.

Lastly, I truly appreciated the Lovecraftian aesthetic. From the ambient but creepy soundtrack to the art style and mythos presented at the end of each group of levels.

Fun puzzle game

And awesome graphics!
