The product works perfectly. The biggest shortcoming for me is that the mounting bracket does move as well as I wished - the camera can only move up or down...really not flexible left to right. Had read a few reviews before buying and was a bit skeptical. I am about average or slightly above on installations like this ( this is used in a small retail store - so I do a lot of little install / repair as well as at home but still average) To make this work you have to have a monitor to set it up. (Yes it’s in instructions and I had to go buy one). A nice big monitor is good to have. It would really help to have a second person help as you can move camera for best positioning while other person tells you “that’s the best spot to mount it”
Pluses are that it records close to a week and then records over again. If you need something from past week you need to save it if you set it as I did to start over recording when the 1000 hours (approx) are recorded. The app works beautifully. Just double tap on any camera and zoom in
I was excited to purchase this product because most of the online reviews said it was user friendly and easy to set up. As the app description says, I was expecting to be able to access my cameras from “anywhere”...that is completely false. While it is true this product is reasonably easy to install and set up, you CONNOT view your cameras from anywhere...only from the home WiFi it is networked into. So, sitting on my couch, I’m golden...but once I leave my WiFi network, no dice. Companies should not be allowed to outright lie about a function that most people would buy the product for. I wish I had the time and money to devote to a lawsuit because this is unacceptable. If you actually care about access to your security system while you are not home, this is a horrible product. If you are like me, you can look out the window and achieve the same function as this product provides. DON’T PURCHASE THIS IF YOU WANT TO WATCH YOUR HOUSE FROM ANOTHER LOCATION OTHER THAN YOUR COUCH.

Defender HD allows viewing from both WiFi and anywhere with a mobile data connection. If you're experiencing difficulty connecting outside a WiFi network, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team. We would love to help you through this. We are also working on a new update to correct any issues experienced with the current and past versions of the app.
APP doesn't work
The camera system itself works within its confined system at home. However, the only place that the app can be used is at home in the same network. I have tried pretty much every place I have gone for the last 3 months. I have been unable to access the cameras anywhere else but at home. This makes the app useless since you can already view the cameras at home through your tv or monitor.
I have read other reviews with same issue and the canned response from the "developer" saying they are always trying to improve. That is definitely not good enough given the fact that the main purpose most people buy these cameras is to view them outside the home.
If I were you I would not buy one of these systems until they get this most basic feature figured out. If they can't get the app to do what it is supposed to. Imagine what other problems one will run into with this camera system.
