Your columns; your rows; your way.

Originally designed for a little old lady, to help her keep track of her large collection of movies, Delectus is a simple list manager.

Lists of what? Of whatever you like!

Create a Delectus document and add any columns you want to your list. Then add as many rows as you like, and enter any text you wish. Click the column headings, and Delectus sorts the list. Type in the Filter Box and Delectus hides items that don't match.

Users of Delectus use it every day to manage lists of movies, books, and music CDs. They use it for lists of camera equipment and savings bonds. They use it for cataloging specialized equipment. They use it to keep track of books they lend. I wrote Delectus to help my elderly mother manage her movie collection, but others have found dozens of uses for it. What will you use it for? Write and tell me, at!

Delectus is extremely simple, with only a few features:

• Create one list per document
• Add as many columns as you like to each document, with any column labels you choose
• Add as many rows as you like, with any text you like in each row

• Click a column label to sort by that column
• Click once to sort forward
• Click twice to sort in reverse
• Click a third time to return to unsorted display
• Delectus automatically sorts numeric columns by number

• Type any text in the Filter Box
• Delectus hides rows that don't match

Extremely Useful :)

I was looking for a simple databases program to keep track of my coupons, and after setting up my required columns and inputting my data, I'm amazed at how useful this will be for me. I can organize my coupon stash by store, search for coupons from a specific mailer, brand, expiration date or value amount and plan my shopping list accordingly. This will make couponing a breeze! :)

I also tried importing my DB into Excel, and other than some deleted columns showing up that I had to remove, it worked just fine converting to .cvs.

I can see tons of potential uses for this nifty little app. Library inventories, movies, collector items, wish lists, to do lists….I really love finding apps like this, where there's no fluff or hype, just a simple, effective tool that does what it says. :) Nicely done!

A simple, effective list-maker

Delectus is an excellent list-maker for people who are scared by the word "database." It does exactly what its description says, with no surprises. Each button has a tool tip that explains what it does when you leave the cursor over it, a nice touch. Two features not mentioned above: you can undelete any record and, for data portability, you can also export your list as comma-separated values (a text file with one line per row, "column" entries within a row separated by commas). You can even show or hide "deleted" rows--displayed in bright red--with a single button click! Perfect for my extensive breeding records of California gerbils!

Editing problems

Well it IS simple. But how do you delete a colum heading when you make a mistake?
I didn't get it in the location I wanted and now can't find a way to correct it.

I found a way around it but would like to fix what I messed up.
Well woth the price though. I'd give it a 5 star if it had just a few hints how to correct my little problem.
