Ratings and Reviews
Both Love/Hate this app...insensitive icon Title!...Really?
This might have been a perfect solution for my aging mother who is experiencing severe memory loss and disorientation. The display is beautiful, easy-to-read and PERFECT (worth a five star review),... once it is OPENED. However, the icon TITLE, "Dementia Clock," is truly horrible. It is a daily, reminder that you have an incurable disease. Most people know that dementia eventually takes away everything: your memories, abilities, dignity and your life. We fear it worse than cancer, bc it progresses soooo slowly, and it is unstoppable. In our multi-generational home, we do not use the "D" word casually bc it provokes unnecessary emotions: mostly fear and hopelessness, with a touch of despair. Reminding your loved one that he/she is "demented" is a horrible way to start their day... Couldn't we give this app a more HELPFUL TITLE? Perhaps "Today's Clock?" ..."My Clock?" or "My WeekDay Reminder?" Anything, but "Dementia Clock"...please.
Great start. Needs improvement.
I was glad to find this app. It works pretty well for my 85 year old mother on an older iPad exclusively used to run this app. It would be improved if the format was changed so that the clock was digital, the day and month were written out rather than abbreviated and the information was listed in order of duration i.e. digital clock first (including AM or PM), day second, month and then year. The season and day time time/night time info and seasonal/weather image are also helpful.
