DepthCam gets the same Neural Engine as my app PortraitCam for capturing perfect portraits with the new PortraitEffectsMatte (PEM). The PEM uses segmentation data from the Neural Engine to accurately separate your subject from the background. In other words, DepthCam detects people in the photo to create a highly detailed depth map.
The real power of DepthCam is it's editing capability. DepthCam is alone in it's ability to edit, import, export, and crop depth maps.
While I recommend our companion app PortraitCam for its cinematic lens blur, DepthCam includes a nice smooth lens blur. New for this update is a blur amount slider. Get a quick preview of lens blur right in DepthCam with an adjustable blur amount (changing the f-stop).
Ratings and Reviews
Amazing app. Top notch.
Every time I render a 3D image, Facebook crashes at 27%.. regardless of pic, 3D depth, anything saved from app crashes Facebook. Portrait images taken with cell phone still upload fine on Facebook with no crash
It crashes when I touch the “ depth” button
The app locks up when I touch the Depth button on top left of screen .
It does this every time .
Other than that it’s pretty cool .
