DepthCam is the ultimate camera for capturing depth. See the real-time preview of depth as you capture photos (for compatible devices).
DepthCam includes a suite of professional tools for editing depth maps. Load any Portrait Mode photo and view/edit the depth data.
You can crop and rotate your photos while keeping the depth data perfectly aligned.
With the new Face Detection, you can create a depth map for any photo.
Includes 3D viewer of depth data.
- Capture photos with the Depth API
- Real-time preview of depth
- Editing tools for depth data
- Import/Export depth data
- Face Detection
Even if you don't have a two camera device, you can still load and edit photos with depth data.
DepthCam is updated to support Facebook 3D photos. Create your own Portrait Mode photos and save them with the correct format to upload as 3D photos on Facebook.
- Fixed bug with Portrait Mode in Photos app
- Fixed bug with missing exif data.
- Fixed bug with colorspace that can darken depth data a bit.
DepthCam gets the same Neural Engine as my app PortraitCam for capturing perfect portraits with the new PortraitEffectsMatte (PEM). The PEM uses segmentation data from the Neural Engine to accurately separate your subject from the background. In other words, DepthCam detects people in the photo to create a highly detailed depth map.
The real power of DepthCam is it's editing capability. DepthCam is alone in it's ability to edit, import, export, and crop depth maps. D
While I recommend our companion app PortraitCam for its cinematic lens blur, DepthCam includes a nice smooth lens blur. New for this update is a blur amount slider. Get a quick preview of lens blur right in DepthCam with an adjustable blur amount (changing the f-stop).
Ratings and Reviews
The new camera pivot is much appreciated. :)
The wigglegram features would be nice, as it is annoying to sideload this app. The dream would be to export a live photo of a side to side. Right now I record the screen, then use another program to make into a live photo. If you did this, the you could use the frames to print a down and dirty lenticular. I would gladly pay $100 for the IAP of this feature.

Thanks for the comments! I'm looking into the possibility to save a live photo or video.
painting depth tools need improvement.
i.e. needs a height slider for painting at a fixed different layers of depth instead of opacity. it would be great if the slider only used 4 known colors (close, foreground, midground, background) and had a “blur current color depth with closer/further/both”
a stamp-3D-plane-to-depth to start would also be cool.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm looking into improving the brush tool for creating depth.
I am giving this 3 stars since its expensive amd doesn't seem to be able to do any more than the free app FOCOS able to do. There's no useful tutorial. What can i do with the depth map exported? An image of the map serves no useful purpose at this point. Please provide some tutorial and explain how this app can be of use and i will be glad to change my rating.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
