DeviceSync for iOS

By Jahn Bertsch

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Description

On OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), synchronization between iOS and OS X no longer works with USB.

If you do not want to use iCloud for calendar and contact synchronization, this litte app may provide a workaround.

INSTALL

You have to download the free OS X app 'DeviceSync for OS X' as well!

Go to 'bit.ly/1ikPQmL' or 'https://github.com/yep/DeviceSync-for-OS-X' to get the latest version as zip file.

USAGE

* Connect your iOS and OS X device to each other by USB
* Start 'DeviceSync for OS X'
* Start 'DeviceSync for iOS'
* Press 'Sync' button in 'DeviceSync for iOS' to start synchronization

WARNING

Synchronization is one way: from iOS to OS X.

ALL CALENDAR AND/OR CONTACT DATA ON YOUR OS X DEVICE WILL BE OVERWRITTEN!

No warranty for data loss.

Be sure to add and update your calendar entries and contacts on iOS only.

What's New in Version 1.2

Added possibility to copy contacts from iOS to OS X

Customer Reviews

Not a sync, an overwrite.

Overwrites but does not sync based on date. For example, a flight on both devices was updated on the iMac but not the iPhone. After running this device sync app, the older iPhone information about the flight overwrote the newer information on the iMac. Once you download and install it, there is a warning that it overwrites local data, which is exactly what it does. Not the solution I was looking for.

Great idea but….

Thanks so much for attempting to undo what the punks at apple have done. Its a great idea, I had no idea my local sync would be taken away to try to force me onto the cloud. Buck u at apple u bucking ash holes. I think it would be great if we could reverse the ‘sync’ so that we can make osx primary and iOS secondary like the other reviewer wanted.
